Storm (Inescapable Book 1) (English Edition) Kindle Ausgabe
As their leader, Kiran has seen just how big the divide between the two species is. And he wants nothing more than to bring harmony and equality between them.
He didn’t plan for his human mate to be the catalyst that shakes up their world when he chose him. But will that be the change they need? Or will it cost Kiran everything he’s worked for?
Jude has lived his entire life watching adoration being heaped upon the Kriila. As a human, he believes they are to be resented, not revered.
They fly high above humans and perch in positions of power while everyone else struggles. The Kriila pay little attention to the struggles of humans and Jude has no expectation that will ever change.
But then Kiran chooses him as his mate, and everything Jude believes in shifts. Was every opinion he ever had a prejudice? Or is Kiran just using him to push his own agenda?

Levi has no faith in the winged beings who rule the world and care nothing for humans. So when the leader of the world, Kiran, claims him as his mate, he is dragged into everything he hates and questions everything about his world.
There are parts of the story that are kept secret to make them a reveal later on but in some ways try also detract from world building. It was interesting the whole thing with the humans and the Kriila. They are meshed yet separate, with Kriila being rich rulers of the world and humans doing drudge work. At least that seems so, though logically there must be poor Kriila as well, and that is sort of hinted but not clear. And then there may be rich humans as well? (Was Kiran's mother human?) Some of these things are revealed with time as we learn more of the Kriila through Levi's eyes and from Kiran trying to change the world. Others are secrets to do with Levi that have to be revealed. It still feels a little bit like there is more to learn about how the Kriila and human world works but some is tied up in future secrets and romances.
Jude and Kiran came together from very different positions, so watching them figure it out was very sweet. Jude felt as though he was in a position of no power and just as a political pawn. Kiran realizes this and does everything to show how it isn't true while also trying to reach out to his mate. It is clear as they get to know each other that they are not at all different in beliefs and hopes, just in upbringing and ability. As they get to know each other things change and it gives hope for their future and for the world, though it is not without risk or a fight to change the wrongs of there world. A beautiful story that has so much more to the world to look forward to!
Storm is a lovely beginning to this new series. I enjoyed the introduction to this new world created by these authors.
There is a lot of information on characters and world-building in this book, but it didn't drag at all for me. I enjoyed learning about this species and how it fits into our world.
The characters are interesting and lovable, and I found myself invested in them right away. They are sweet and sexy and believable in their relationship. I caught a good case of the warm fuzzies.
The storyline flows from scene to scene, and I was at the end before I knew it. I didn't want it to end.
I look forward to more from this author.
I love how Kiran is so level headed, fighting his urges and taking it slow, giving Jude the space he needs to process everything, doing what he can to change his opinion without focing anything on him. I have to say this is the prime example of healthy mating folks!
On his side, Jude being a human he always thought that Kiran, the Kriila's Circle Leader, was obnoxious and self-centered, like the majority of the Kriila. It suffices to say he wasnt thrilled when Kiran said "he's mine" and turned his world upside-down.
This book brushes a bit of politics struggles, corruption, and fighting for a better world for everyone. The politics part took a bit of a back seat position in the plot, but was still present and helped the story move forward.
All in all, it was a good book, with a good romance, which wasn't a complete insta-love on both sides, which I loved!
Please give me more.
