It doesen't happen often that I can't put a book down when I have work to do. This was one of those rare books. You get sucked in the story immediately, MC is very likable and relatable, there are plots and twists, amazing supporting characters,... Overall a great book. If you love dragons and like to read urban fantasy, give this book a try.

If you love fantasy stories, like I do, you will absolutely enjoy “The Cord Between Us”!

If you don’t like a ton of spice but you do enjoy a bit of romance this is the book for you! I would say it’s a step above a YA book and say it’s about a level 1 or 2 for spice. That said, I could not put this book down once I started it!!

If you’re interested in this book I’m sure you’re used to reading about mates and how they typically just see each other, and they just know instantly that they belong together right? The spin on mate bonds that the author added to this book was perfection and possibly my favorite part of the book! There were just enough plot twists in the book that I was kept guessing what would happen next.

Loved Jenna, tough yet soft. She wasn’t a damsel in distress type, but wasn’t afraid to show her emotions either.

Let’s not pick favorites but Simeon is great! Kipp is cool and all, but he felt a bit like a side character for me(which I sort of liked, since it meant Jenna wasn’t waiting around for him all the time)…

The ending happened a bit quick for me, but also makes me nervous for the next book… the small slice of the bigger picture, what could possibly be worse?

Jenna is about to become a Knight. Knights fight dragons, but not in the typical way. Dragons now live in human form amount everyday people, but they cutthroat, and will never back down from a fight. Should be easy for Jenna right? Afterall, she wants to continue her family's legacy. But her life is quickly turned upside-down when she meets Kipp. Something is killing dragons, and it's not the knights. But where does Jenna fit into all this?

So for my first series of the year, is tah-dah! The Shadow Dragon series by Leigh Ferguson. And this book was so good!!! It was quick chapters, action and romance filled, I couldn't put it down! Lots of character development, great storyline and there are plenty of characters to keep an eye on! 👀
This book didn't even take me 32 hours (would've been less but life as usual gets in the way) its so easy to read, I loved how punchy it was and how it did get stuck at any point, Leigh just kept going and going!
The only thing I can think of that I struggled with, was how certain characters relationships would just do a 180⁰, one second Jenna isn't keen, the next she doesn't want them to leave. But hey, that's just me, I still LOVED IT!
