Ready or Knot (Serendipity Omegaverse Book 1) (English Edition) Kindle Ausgabe
Omegas are prized.
Omegas are valuable.
Omegas are desired.
Or so the Council says.
I've been suppressing my inherent Omega nature since the damn Council member delivered the news of my designation in the spring of my Senior year of high school. I had dreams. I had travel plans. One stupid packet changed all of it.
Mostly.
Four years later, I'm finally letting the Council match me with a pack. One night to determine the rest of my life. I'm skeptical until Logan makes the night fun, Carter makes it unforgettable, and Jude makes it intriguing. The Council pairing me with them is a dream come true.
But what if they don't like me when I'm finally off my suppressors and learning how to be an Omega?
What if I'm a terrible Omega?
What if they decide to back out?
We have sixty days.
By day fifteen, I can't imagine living without them.
But will they still want me even after my heat?

But still, it's interesting how each author has their own take on it and makes differences or touch the genre up in different ways.
So, when I found this book, I was excited, because the author is a new one for me, and I'm always interested in seeing how it will turn out.
I can tell you, I loved it. The characters were great. I liked Faedra, our Omega FMC in this story. I could always relate to her and her feelings. The story in general didn't start out as many others. She isn't denying her Omega status, though she is insecure about what it entails to be an Omega, which was explained reasonable. All her family are Betas. And because of her taking suppressants for many years, she never really learned to understand her Omega nature. Still, she accepts that she is an Omega and makes the best out of it. She is confident and blunt.
She postponed the matching process to Alphas, because of her wanting to have her degree first. But when she finally goes to the matching Gala the council conducts, she meets the Alphas Jude, Carter, and Logan. They had their own issues, being one of the oldest packs there and tried to be matched for four years, but were always overlooked by other Omegas. They are disheartened and don't believe in finding an Omega anymore, since they were never chosen in all these years. And they had given up hope. They can't believe it, when Faedra selected them. Each of them is different in their personalities. I really liked them and the dynamic between them.
It is an emotional ride throughout the story. I love how the author made a point to take her time with them coming together as a pack. It's slower than it is usually done in the Omegaverse. The attraction was definitely there from the start, but Faedra had to learn about Omega nature. And the guys had some things too.
Really, the author touched a lot. They learn about each other, talk about their lives and the guys talk Faedra through her feelings and make her see, that they don't want to control her and that she can make her own choices and decisions. That she has every right to be herself and decide what she wants from life.
There was little drama, and a lot of spicy ones, but not too much. It was really well-balanced, which I liked.
I wished the council in the world was explained, though. It was never said how it came, that they matched Alphas and Omegas and what the government and all looks like. Or why most Betas don't know much about Omegas and Alphas, despite them living together. I would think they would be schooled about the dynamics at least. But they only seem to know the bare minimum. It's apparent with her parents and brother. They know about Faedra needing a pack, but they don't seem to understand how it works.
Another thing I found a bit confusing was that the trigger warnings were at the end of the book instead in the beginning. It doesn't make sense to me.
Overall, I give it 5 stars out of 5. I will follow this author and read the next books in this series.
And I couldn't connect with their feelings, the idea is nice but the emotions only feel superficial, there is not really any suspense. Even the scenes with Melanie are resolved too quickly.
Overall an okay read.

Faedra and her guys are so perfect for each other. I found the concept of the Council and the Matching Gala super interesting. Faedra, Logan, Carter and Jude all have amazing chemistry right from the start. These guys are so perceptive to her needs and making sure she’s doing what makes her happy. I loved that Faedra didn’t have any issues just saying what was on her mind so there was zero room for any miscommunication.

While I like omegaverse books, and this was no exception, I really could do without a description of every single time one of the characters touches, or plays with, or adjusts a piercing…that just seemed really unnecessary.
That irked me enough that I nearly DNF.
If you can look past that, it’s a really great book. Spice level is on point, character development is great, even the angst is pretty decent (a little extreme towards the end, though). I’ll be checking out future books for sure.
