Loving the Game: The Renegades Legacy Trilogy Book One Kindle Edition
Life happens.
At least that’s what Paige Kidd had always thought. You found your career, you fell in love, got married, and had a family. She was on pace with everything except the last item. And her biological clock was ticking– loudly.
Tyler Kidd’s focus was always on his game, whether it was the beginning of the season, playoffs, or the off-season, he was always thinking about how he could be at the top of his game. He was a hockey player; it was in his blood. He always just assumed that someday he would have a little team of his own. It wasn’t something he thought about a lot, he figured it would just happen. Until it wasn’t.
Paige yearned for more, and Tyler was having a hard time sitting back and seeing his wife miserable. Life was happening around them while theirs stood still. Tyler would do anything to see his wife smile. He’d move heaven and earth to make her happy. And for once, hockey was the last thing on his mind.

About the Author
Melody was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she lives with her husband, son, cat and puppy. She likes to read when she isn't writing or watching a Pittsburgh Penguins hockey game. You can often find her at the local Starbucks ordering her favorite drink, Iced Mocha.
The whole family are avid Pittsburgh Penguins fans and like going to hockey games when they get the chance. Having met some of the players has fueled her interest in writing about them and creating wonderful stories.
Melody has loved writing since she was small, in school she never met a creative writing assignment that she didn't love. She is lucky enough to have a wonderful husband who encourages her to write. When she was laid off from her job of 14 years, he was supportive about letting her stay home and take care of their son. During that time she discovered hockey-romances and found a renewed love of reading as well as a passion for writing.
She spends her spare time reading hockey romances. At holiday time she really enjoys any romance about Christmas. When it is the hockey off-season, she enjoys swimming and spending her days out in the sun. Basically if she's not writing or reading, then she's doing something that has to do with hockey!

This author’s stories are funny, heart warming, and filled with great characters and realistic hockey action, but I am exhausted by the end from having to constantly mentally correct grammar and tense mistakes. Often there are switches in tense two or three times in the same sentence! Just one example: “The little girl was wise beyond her years, and Sam and Trina will eventually have their hands full with her.” NO!! They ‘would ‘eventually have their hands full. Ughh. It’s just painful.
The author does herself and her readers a disservice because these easily caught and corrected errors distract from the story and make it feel like you’re reading a middle school book report instead of a talented writers engaging work.
I love the idea of continuing to follow these characters through their lives. This story tugs at your heart and instills hope that committed and supportive love is real. Now if I could only feel hope that proofreading and editing are real and someone is listening too.
