Kayla Maya is the author of YA fantasy. Song of Storms is her debut novel.

Her first love has always been fantasy, but bold heroines, forbidden romances, and magic are her favorites. She takes pride in her writing and her characters, especially if she sometimes imagines being the main character.

Kayla lives in the bustling city of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and shares her life with her husband and her many assortment of furry creatures, which includes, but does not limit to, cats, dogs, and maybe a ferret named Caesar! When not writing she can be found reading other authors, if not taking long strolls along the Lake Fayetteville side of town.

Eira - I enjoyed her character and the fact she was a thief and would do these odd jobs. Also, her life story was sad but that made her be more independent and more strong, plus I loved her relationship with the wolf, it was so nice reading about that.
Kol - Can't really tell if I liked him, hated him or nothing I just felt for someone who was portrayed in so many bad ways you would think we'd see a bit of that side too, instead we've seen only the good side which was a bit surprising. Yes, he's up to no good and stuff like that but I wanted to see a bit more of that darker side. We did see his family dark side, or at least on some of them tho.
Overall the rest of the characters in the story are intriguing and they have quite a lot of secrets and I hope we're going to see more of Inkari because I really liked her.

The world-building was interesting. All these realms, traveling some one to the other, their history and complicated names I just loved it.

I liked the thievery trope, especially since I've not really read it that often before. I enjoyed Eira's relationship with her wolf and the multitude of secrets that got revealed throughout the story and definitely the scenes with her and Kol. However, I felt the story to lack that wow factor when something was revealed to us. I felt the scenes didn't quite had that impact on me to make me go "wtf" they just felt flat. However the shower scene was definitely eye catching.

⮞ 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐞/TW ⮜
The story isn't a clean romance but also not overly smutty. I would say is more on the erotics side of things, with enough details to spark your interest and keep you interested in what's going on. There aren't very big TWs in the story, there's mention of the loss of a parent, some fighting scenes with different creatures, and I think that was it. The book didn't trigger me.

This is a refreshing Norse mythology story, that took me to a world that I loved. Kol/aka Loki and Eria
make this a story that I had to finish, a great start to this duet. Eria is still learning who and what she is, and it is an interesting and slowly revealing journey. I Love Kol's mystery and protective ways with Eria! I highly recommend for Norse mythology lovers! I Loved It!!! No Spoilers!
I received an ARC and I am Leaving this Totally Honest Review because I choose to and Loved this Story!!!
