I thought this story was interesting. I kept waiting for the Villian to be revealed. You could feel that something was going to happen to the couple. Didn't expect it to go the way it did but was pleasantly surprised. Excited to read the next book I think even more than this book.

THE GOLDEN ALPHA was a completely new approach to the omegaverse subgenre, and I have to say I really enjoyed it! While the werewolf component was hinted at but not heavily or explicitly shown, the pack structure fit seamlessly within this dystopian society the author created, and I really enjoyed the lore and the character relationships. This is definitely a book I’d recommend as a first approach to the omegaverse subgenre, or to those already familiar with it who want something a little softer, and a little different.

Dystopian omegaverse - I really enjoyed this story. They live in an enclosed society where everyone has their place, a social hierarchy of families, and ABO dynamics. Omegas "call" to their Alphas, and an Alpha can accept the call or refuse it, which means setting the Omega aside. While his upper tier family plans for him to mate with the daughter of another upper tier family, when his Omega calls for him, he doesn't refuse. Unfortunately, his family doesn't have all their puppies barking, and some of them plot to get rid of his Omega and her competition. He is able to find her though and they decide not to go back to the society where everything is ordered, everything is provided - by "others" who live outside the fence.
