Publisher's Summary
A gripping, fearless exploration of masculinity
The effects of traditionally defined masculinity have become one of the most prevalent social issues of our time. In this engaging and provocative new book, beloved actor, director, and social activist Justin Baldoni reflects on his own struggles with masculinity. With insight and honesty, he explores a range of difficult, sometimes uncomfortable topics including strength and vulnerability, relationships and marriage, body image, sex and sexuality, racial justice, gender equality, and fatherhood.
Writing from experience, Justin invites us to move beyond the scripts we’ve learned since childhood and the roles we are expected to play. He challenges men to be brave enough to be vulnerable, to be strong enough to be sensitive, to be confident enough to listen. Encouraging men to dig deep within themselves, Justin helps us reimagine what it means to be man enough and in the process what it means to be human.

Lane Moore is a rare performer who is as impressive onstage - whether hosting her iconic show Tinder Live or being the enigmatic front woman of It Was Romance - as she is on the page, as both a former writer for The Onion and an award-winning sex and relationships editor for Cosmopolitan. But her story has had its obstacles, including being her own parent, living in her car as a teenager, and moving to New York City to pursue her dreams. Through it all, she looked to movies, TV, and music as the family and support systems she never had.

Story
Two years ago, Louise le Blanc fled her coven and took shelter in the city of Cesarine, forsaking all magic and living off whatever she could steal. There, witches like Lou are hunted. They are feared. And they are burned. As a huntsman of the Church, Reid Diggory has lived his life by one principle: Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live. But when Lou pulls a wicked stunt, the two are forced into an impossible situation - marriage. Lou, unable to ignore her growing feelings, yet powerless to change what she is, must make a choice. And love makes fools of us all.

Thank you Justin for your beautiful inspiring honesty
In the midst of all the other books I’ve been reading, they’re always from a female perspective, so it was very refreshing to hear from a man going through such a similar journey of self-discovery, and breaking down the barriers of culture and expectation and it was so encouraging to understand and hear you so candidly share that men may be having a similarly difficult time practising to self-acceptance and self-love. I applaud you and your bravery. Your give me hope. :) Thank you.

Above and beyond!!
There was everything to absolutely love about this book. I decided to purchase it because I have two sons and I wanted to break societal norms and teach them to love themselves and not “Man Up” when they cry or when they are feeling emotions they are told to push down or ignore. I cried so many times just realizing so much about what men, (more specifically what my partner’s life must’ve looked like having a horrible relationship with his own father) why they are the way they are with emotions, or having their suit of armour on and how it affects them internally. I 10/10 recommend this book for anyone and everyone. You are enough just as the human being you are and the messages in this book makes you realize that and so much more. Thank you so much for this incredible book, Justin Baldoni!

Yes to this ❤️
I read this book as a daughter and a woman who wants to understand the men in her life better, and I am very grateful for the perspective Justin shared so authentically. Even though the book was written more specifically for men, I found myself reflecting on my own experiences which have been influenced by the patriarchal nature of the world I was brought up in. Highly recommend.

A man's journey in manhood
Really enjoyed this book... It was raw. It was unfiltered. It was free of any mask. It went places I didn't expect it to go and there were many, many opportunities for self reflection.

Fantastic book that every man should read. This would help any man, like me, because we were just misinformed about masculinity.

Unlearning to Learn
I’m speechless but I’ll try to give this a decent review. It felt like I was sitting with Justin in the same room & having such a deep, raw, authentic and real conversation. I cried multiple times because Justin’s vulnerability and humanity spoke right through me. It was a beautiful & heart breaking experience that I wish people would be brave to include on their to finding themselves

So necessary!!
It’s a great book and honestly something that every human impacted by masculinity must read!
It’s also an exercise in vulnerability and in general it’s great and so helpful
