After discovery Michael Woods - I have read all the Matilda Darke books and now this - WOW! Have to say - I did guess who the culprit was - but still - those twists and turns that made me gasp! Highly recommend … would have happily paid for the book to!

After discovering these books - I cannot stop listening to them. This one was sad because of the content - but equally it is a topic that needs to be aired. Not as shocking as some of the other titles - but a fab listen all the same - with a cliff hanger at the end of course! On to the next one …

Absolutely love the Matilda Darke series. Each book is different and unpredictable - and always a twist somewhere in there that makes me gasp! Good characters too - recommend these books to anyone wanting a good escapism read

The expectation didn’t live up to the hype

I listened to the end - but I won’t be buying anymore in the series. Expected more but it sort of just droned on in the background. I usually love sci fi/other worldly stuff - but this seemed to be trying to be a mix of other greats (like Indiana jones/contact etc.) and it didn’t work for me. Narrator was good - but even he couldn’t keep me engaged. At least I purchased the book in the sale … 😕

Story was gripping - had to keep listening at every possible moment. Narration was a tad dodgy in places and you could hear where it stopped and started - slightly irritating but the book was too good to give up. Would definitely recommend. Will be listening to more of his works

Started so well - gripped and couldn’t stop listening - ending ruined it.

Great story line to begin with but what a silly ending. Ruined it for me. It was like the author had to write a set number of words because the end part was not needed and so predictable. Narrator was really good though and kept the tension there. I will read more of this authors books - this is my second.

The narrator became irritating towards the end of the book - felt he missed the opportunity for creating tension and suspense. I actually couldn’t wait for the end of the book because of this. Story was good although the ending was a tad sudden and lame. Was it worth a credit? Hmmmmm
