Story
A business's overall strategy may be set at board level, but many people throughout the organisation will be involved in deciding that strategy and implementing it - making decisions that are strategic in nature. On these decisions hangs the future of the business: how successful it is, even whether it is successful. Yet business history is full of strategic decisions, both big and small, that were weak, poorly conceived and consequently disastrous.

The content in the book is good. its sometimes deep and sometimes high level. it covers a lot... I mean a lot.
This is a good book to start your knowledge on business strategy. however you have to go deeper into other books to learn more.

Good Strategy/Bad Strategy

Story
Developing and implementing a strategy is the central task of a leader. A good strategy is a specific and coherent response to - and approach for - overcoming the obstacles to progress. A good strategy works by harnessing and applying power where it will have the greatest effect. Yet, Rumelt shows that there has been a growing and unfortunate tendency to equate Mom-and-apple-pie values, fluffy packages of buzzwords, motivational slogans, and financial goals with “strategy”.

They should issue these in schools for grade 10 and get kids to learn this stuff so the future generations will be product led.

Story
In this intriguing business novel, which illustrates state-of-the-art economic theory, Alex Rogo is a UniCo plant manager whose factory and marriage are failing. To revitalize the plant, he follows piecemeal advice from an elusive former college professor who teaches, for example, that reduction in the efficiency of some plant operations may make the entire operation more productive. Alex's attempts to find the path to profitability and to engage his employees in the struggle involve the listener; and thankfully the authors' economic models.

having read a few books on agile , toc, lean this book is not a particularly mind blowing one. the value from the book is great but the voiceover just makes it really hard to get through.
its also a bit old fashioned for 2021!
