Historia
A window is but a piece of glass through which we view the world outside. It is not meant to distort. It is not intended to do anything but show us things as they are. At Oxford, though, there is a very particular window that reveals a very particular view. It is a view that defies all laws of nature and science. And when a detective is called in to investigate, he is startled to find that view opens a window into his own life–and a mystery he has never been able to solve.

Disgusting ending for no reason
Revisado: 03-17-24
This story ends out if the blue with saying her dad’s sweaty advanced of incest were justified because it made him the great man he was. THE DAD WASNT EVEN IN THE BOOK! Incest had nothing to do with the story ! The book was probably just created to leave that last thought in your head that incest is ok!🤮 I’m disgusted with Audible. No wonder this horrid propaganda was free.

Historia
The year was 1917. As a war raged across the world, young American women flocked to work, painting watches, clocks, and military dials with a special luminous substance made from radium. It was a fun job, lucrative and glamorous - the girls themselves shone brightly in the dark, covered head to toe in the dust from the paint. They were the radium girls. As the years passed, the women began to suffer from mysterious and crippling illnesses.

Phenomenal story and research. One of the few stories I will forever think about.
Revisado: 02-18-24
At first I was slightly turned off by the textbook-like reading of this masterpiece but it truly is a documentary and a story that needs to be heard. After a while the narrator grew on me and was actually a great soothing voice while spouting so many facts and quotes over the 16 hours. This story did not get boring. I was entranced throughout the reading while I pictured myself during those times where women did not usually get to take home a salary from a workplace nor had a voice in issues. The pain and suffering they endured throughout their lives was unfathomable. Thank you to this British author for taking on such in-depth research on a very important topic.

Perfect for fans of Gillian Flynn, Lisa Jewell and Paula Hawkins. The perfect couple. The perfect marriage. The perfect game. Effie and Ben May have everything. Success. Beauty. Glamour. But beneath the charming smiles and expensive clothes, a twisted game is in progress. A game for which only they know the rules.

This book reminded me of the show “You”. Twists and turns and never a dull moment. Narrators were phenomenal. Just the right amount of background noise and music.

This was an unexpected find but I’m hooked. So well written with endless possibilities and thought-provoking realms. Love the narrator until he tried a female voice 🤭. Better to get another narrator for the female parts and then it’s close to perfection. It’s been quite a while since I listen to such a great book and am thrilled there are more in the series.

Historia
Buckhead isn’t a place you live, it’s a place you survive. And that applies even to the wealthy housewives that have it all. Fancy cars, designer clothes, and daily salon appointments aren’t nearly enough to keep them fulfilled and happy. Because in this town, privilege and opulence go hand in hand with betrayal and revenge. Jenny, the owner of Glow, an exclusive membership-only beauty salon, knows that better than anyone, because she knows everything about these housewives—down to each individual strand of hair.

Historia
Littleport, Maine, has always felt like two separate towns: an ideal vacation enclave for the wealthy, whose summer homes line the coastline, and a simple harbor community for the year-round residents whose livelihoods rely on service to the visitors. Typically, fierce friendships never develop between a local and a summer girl - but that’s just what happens with visitor Avery Greer and Littleport resident Sadie Loman. Each summer for almost a decade, the girls are inseparable - until Sadie is found dead.

Best to target families with extreme issues and LGBT community
Revisado: 12-18-23
This was more of a sad book about families with debilitating issues and illness and death. Quite depressing. I’d rather have a more traditional mystery or thriller.

Riveting love story that proves spiritual healing can turn around one’s darkest thoughts.
Based in Beverly Hills with various visits around LA County is fun if you are familiar with the area, albeit the east coast is not left out. This is a love story unlike any other so I don’t want to give anything away. Get ready for some twists and turns along with intense (&erotic) love and dysfunctional family issues in the midst of some normalcy.
The narrators are exceptional.
