Historia
Jen Mann doesn't have a filter, which sometimes gets her in trouble with her neighbors, fellow PTA moms, and that one woman who tried to sell her sex toys at a home shopping party. Known for her hilariously acerbic observations on her blog, People I Want to Punch in the Throat, Mann now brings her sharp wit to bear on suburban life, marriage, and motherhood in this laugh-out-loud collection of essays. From the politics of joining a play group, to the thrill of moms' night out at the gun range, to the rewards of your most meaningful relationship, nothing's sacred or off-limits.

Different then what I thought
Revisado: 04-25-23
Not the type of book I thought it would be. I thought this would be some sort of hilarious novel. Instead it is an autobiography which should’ve been titled “Waaahhhh! All the parts of my first world/privileged life that I find annoying” Each chapter is a different funny story from the authors life, not necessarily in order but easy to listen to. If you can relate to the author then this book is very funny. She is married with 2 children, as am I. When she deals with silly conversations with her husband or putting up with ridiculous moms and their children at her kids school you can relate. The narrator is also the author so the acting isn’t great but you can feel the annoyance from the person who actually lived these stories.

You are a failed novelist about to turn 50. A wedding invitation arrives in the mail: Your boyfriend of the past nine years is engaged to someone else. You can't say yes - it would be too awkward - and you can't say no - it would look like defeat. On your desk are a series of invitations to half-baked literary events around the world. Question: How do you arrange to skip town? Answer: You accept them all.

Loved it!!!
Revisado: 12-30-22
I don’t know why there was so many bad reviews. Those made me want to listen to this book more. Great story, amazing narrator! Robert Perkoff was so fun to listen to. He did voices of different characters and was exciting to listen to. A lot of other books I can’t get through because the narrator is so bad but not this guy. The story was well written and clever, it makes me think about my own life in such a way. I will definitely listen to this again Or probably pick up a hard copy to have.

About three things I was certain. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him, and I didn't know how dominant that part might be, that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

Kinda shocked
Revisado: 09-24-22
I’ve read all the books except this one and I was surprised at how corny and sappy it was. I thought this would be the best of the four books, but in my opinion, it was the worst. Never in my life have I uttered the words “the movie was better then the book” but in this case it was.
This is a teenaged love story told by the female protagonist point of view. I though the reader did an amazing job capturing the dorky, clumsy girl. But the story it’s self was unrealistic, and pathetically desperate. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good vampire book, I can read Anne Rice all day. For me reading Twilight I was over it before the half way point but I stuck it out and finished it for hopes the ending would be amazing. It’s wasn’t. I might be partial bc there are no werewolves in this book and I am “team Jacob” all day. My favorite book of the series is New Moon. But I’m glad I got through the first book to get some back story.

Historia
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

Amazing Book!
Revisado: 09-08-20
This book is exciting and the narrator is wonderful! He does voices for different characters and you can hear the humor as well as the sadness. Two thumbs up!
