Historia
Who hasn’t wondered for a split second what the world would be like if a person who is the object of your affliction ceased to exist? But then you’ve probably never heard of The McMasters Conservatory, dedicated to the consummate execution of the homicidal arts. To gain admission, a student must have an ethical reason for erasing someone who deeply deserves a fate no worse (nor better) than death. The campus of this “Poison Ivy League” college—its location unknown to even those who study there—is where you might find yourself the practice target of a classmate.

Loved the characters
Revisado: 06-09-24
The three ‘students’ worked so hard to complete their assignments in ways that didn’t point the them as murderers. Very ingenuous. The ending was perfect.

Becky needs to give it up
Revisado: 04-14-24
The story is good but like another reviewer I’m sick of Becky and her games. This is not a ‘love’ triangle. It is a very manipulative woman that only uses her power to pull men’s strings. His sister is just as bad making excuses for her husband’s actions. M D - where are the strong women in your stories. Are all Scottish women like this - unable to stand up and be strong characters?

Too gruesome

This story was too much for me. Also very unbelievable. Hard to believe everyone survived their physical injuries much less the mental ones.

Laughed out loud a lot. My family kept looking at me weirdly. (Or is it weird?). Enjoyed it so much I forgot there were bad people in the story. The narrator is the best.

Set in the mountains of southern Appalachia, Demon Copperhead is the story of a boy born to a teenaged single mother in a single-wide trailer, with no assets beyond his dead father’s good looks and copper-colored hair, a caustic wit, and a fierce talent for survival. Relayed in his own unsparing voice, Demon braves the modern perils of foster care, child labor, derelict schools, athletic success, addiction, disastrous loves, and crushing losses.

Great Story!!
Revisado: 12-31-22
Barbara Kingsolver has been one of my favorite authors since the Poise Wood Bible. After that I read Bean Tree and everything else she has written. I am amazed how well she captured and used a young boy to tell the story of how easy kids can fall through the cracks of our social system as well as how the government helped make a drug crisis in the US. Very amazing book for all to read.

It’s been a decade since Trumanell Branson disappeared, leaving only a bloody handprint behind. Her pretty face still hangs like a watchful queen on the posters on the walls of the town’s Baptist church, the police station, and in the high school. They all promise the same thing: We will find you. Meanwhile, Tru's brother, Wyatt, lives as a pariah in the desolation of the old family house, cleared of wrongdoing by the police but tried and sentenced in the court of public opinion and in a new documentary about the crime.

Historia
“I’m sorry but the answer’s no.” Reluctant author, Anthony Horowitz, has had enough. He tells ex-detective Daniel Hawthorne that after three books he’s splitting and their deal is over. The truth is that Anthony has other things on his mind. His new play, a thriller called Mindgame, is about to open at the Vaudeville Theater in London’s West End. Not surprisingly, Hawthorne declines a ticket to the opening night. The play is panned by the critics. In particular, Sunday Times critic Margaret Throsby gives it a savage review, focusing particularly on the writing.
