True Crime Falls Short

This is a poorly written book about a victim being sadly stalked and then murdered by her estranged husband. Unfortunately, it missed the mark for me. The narrator was okay and sounded like he recorded the book in a bathroom, and then they added some woman who tried to act and was sometimes laughable, sorry to say, which detracted from the whole tragic story. I would not recommend this book to anyone.

Captivating

I thought the whole story was fascinatingly sad and heroic at the same time. To think of how all those wives (and children) were used, abused and had endured over and over again the unrighteous dominion the men had over all of them is truly unfathomable to me. And yet, Carolyn found a way to escape it all. An Amazingly strong woman she must be!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I love true crime stories along with the incredible forensics involved in solving the cases. Unfortunately, this audio book didn't hit the mark for me because it contained too much in detail the forensics and not the overall story of the crime itself, which I am more interested in.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I love Ann Rule the best, but my next book is "Body of Proof."

What does Kevin Pierce bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

This book is more for those highly connected to forensics itself because of the detail in solving the crimes - too much detail for me.

What character would you cut from No Stone Unturned?

The performance is what helped me get through the book.

Any additional comments?

I almost gave up on the book after five chapters, but it did get somewhat better, even though it was hard to keep my attention throughout. I found myself rewinding it often.

Intellectually Written Text Book

Is there anything you would change about this book?

If you need a text book on deep, psychological aspects of self esteem, then this is the book for you. I was disappointed with the whole over all feel of the book and was looking for something a little less wordy and easier to listen to.
