War, love and ghosts

Excellent book and performance. I really hope there will be a second book with the main characters. The ghost part adds a gothic element of fear and unknown but it’s really a World War I , spy and love story. So enjoyable and touching in so many ways. Reminds me of Foyle’s War ( even though different World War), how everyone is affected by the war but must carry on.

Unexpected pleasure

Reading some reviews I wonder if we've all read the same book. This was a great psychological mystery in the vein of Ruth Rendell . Complicated, damaged characters that all converge in a moment in time. The author tied up all the storylines with a very satisfying ending. The characters are not unlikable as some reviewers have mentioned they're 3 dimensional and are all doing the best they can. A tremendous success.
