Resumen del Editor

A thrilling prequel adventure based on the acclaimed TV series Star Trek: Picard!

Two years after the USS Voyager’s return from the Delta Quadrant, Seven of Nine finds herself rejected for a position in Starfleet and instead finds a new home with the interstellar rogue law enforcement corps known as the Fenris Rangers. The Rangers seem like an ideal fit for Seven—but to embrace this new destiny, she must leave behind all she’s ever known, and risk losing the most important thing in her life: her friendship with Admiral Kathryn Janeway.

great story & audio

Enjoyed the story, I love 7s character. it is easy to picture the characters. I enjoyScifi it was refreshing to see strong, interesting and not hyper sexualized female characters. The male characters were interesting & had positive interactions and relationships with the other characters. Enjoyed having lesbian characters without it being centered on coming out as a theme.

Fun and Games

Well written and well read. Nice pacing with enough breaks to come up for air. Fills in nicely the backstory on how seven ended up in the rangers.

How 7 of 9 became "The Borg Fenris Ranger"

Wonderful story, accurate canon characters, well acted. It was easy to imagine Jeri Ryan as 7 of 9 with the voice actress January Lavoy playing her. The budding lesbian romance between Seven and fellow Trill Ranger Ellory Kaydwas presented tenderly and believably, and without any clichés. Lots of exciting action as Seven pursues the rogue genocidal tyrant Kogish with her older partner and mentor, Keon Harper, who refers to the young crusader as "Kid." And, as Seven witnesses the death and brutality caused by Kogish, it brings back painful memories of when she was a Borg drone, a virtual slave of the Collective and had to help assimilate millions of other beings into being enslaved. She has an epiphany that was initiated when she was freed from the Borg by her friend, Commanding Officer and Mother- figure, Captain Kathryn Janeway.

I highly recommend this book/CD/streaming audio book. I also recommend to listen to it at least twice to familiarize oneself with the character, plot and various nuances. WELL DONE!

Great Book. not so great narration.

January Lavoy puts wayyy too much emotion into Seven. It does not sound like Seven at all, which was off putting. I wish Robert Petcoff (I think that's how you spell it) had done the reading. Book itself was great. Janeway voice was good but Lavoy is just not good with narrating Seven.

Fun!

Fun to hear Seven and Janeway. January Jones nailed the voices and acted the heck out of the parts. I just thought the story was a little predictable and on the nose, but it was still a good time.

Fun bit of backstory

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I think the narrator did a great job. Her Janeway impression is spot on.
The book does a decent job at showing how Seven got to where she was in the Picard series. Even if David Mac seemed a bit horny at the beginning of the story. He also reused quotes that he’s used in other books.
I feel like some aspects of Seven’s character from Voyager were conveniently ignored for the sake of the story

Readers ability to channel 7 and Janeway!

Good fun. Maybe should have been branded a Voyager novel rather than a Picard novel, meh.
