Resumen del Editor

Set in the universe of the New York Times best-selling Three-Body Problem trilogy, The Redemption of Time continues Cixin Liu’s multi-award-winning science fiction saga. This original story by Baoshu - published with Liu’s support - envisions the aftermath of the conflict between humanity and the extraterrestrial Trisolarans.

In the midst of an interstellar war, Yun Tianming found himself on the front lines. Riddled with cancer, he chose to end his life, only to find himself flash frozen and launched into space where the Trisolaran First Fleet awaited. Captured and tortured beyond endurance for decades, Yun eventually succumbed to helping the aliens subjugate humanity in order to save Earth from complete destruction.

Granted a healthy clone body by the Trisolarans, Yun has spent his very long life in exile as a traitor to the human race. Nearing the end of his existence at last, he suddenly receives another reprieve - and another regeneration. A consciousness calling itself The Spirit has recruited him to wage battle against an entity that threatens the existence of the entire universe. But Yun refuses to be a pawn again and makes his own plans to save humanity’s future....

Just bad writing

Cringey at best, mysoginistic neck beard style self-indulgent self-insert at worst. Do not recommend. Author should have just taken up D&D or something if they wanted to be a magical space wizard with five waifus.

Should have stayed as fan fiction

I managed somehow to finish the whole thing. Starts off great with a lot of potential but then end up dropping the ball almost half way through.

Scratches the Three Body itch, but...

this book definitely serves the purpose of filling the void left after finishing the main trilogy, but it still falls short in a few places. some chapters would feel right at home in either of the previous two novels, but others just feel like gratuitous fanfic, which is to be expected. The ending is particularly needless.

Dont go into this expecting something consistently on the caliber of the rest of the series, if you do, you'll be disappointed. but if you just want to stay in the Three Body universe for a little while longer, this mostly does the job. It answers a few questions that were left over from the last one, and also a few questions that probably no one had and didn't really need to be answered.

Imaginative, but lacking.

I appreciate this book’s existence very much, as it brought closure to the end of a phenomenal series. I could tell that the author cared a lot about doing right by the original series in the way that almost every character was revisited. However, it’s really hard for this book to hold a candle to the original trilogy. I’m really glad the author tried, though! Many lingering questions I had from the original series were answered in satisfying ways.

Meh THEN AMAZING!!

At first I wasn't too excited about it when I realized it was just authorized Fan fiction... BUT THEN, it was amazing!! it tied up all the opened ended questions in the original trilogy then joined up with Foundation and then wrapped it all up with a beautiful bow of completion.
I wanted more, but was extremely happy with the way it ended and put a neat little period at the end of the last sentence. Looking forward to more from this author. I wish he would wrap up Foundations with the same kind of fan fiction.
The End...

Superlative Fan Fiction

This novel does not follow a traditional story structure. Much of it is pure exposition, with the main character telling things to another character that the reader needs to know. But if you are a fan of the original trilogy, that information is fascinating and fills in many blanks in a satisfying way.

If you’re craving more (mostly) awesome TBP lore, this is for you

Definitely a small creative shift from the source material, but not too noticeable. While there were a few scenes that took I thought were a little silly, I think the book provided a great sense of closure to the ending of the series. It answered a lot of questions I had after finishing Death’s End, and even provided some really elaborate and enticing concepts for what happened long before and long after the main story.

The other reviews made me skeptical to give it a try, thinking it might sour my experience with the trilogy. But l’m glad I took the dive. Also really helped having the same narrator.

An ending better than I imagined Liu Cixin would have written

I was skeptical about a fan written continuation of Liu Cixin’s epic but Baoshu blew me away with how seamlessly and at the same time surprisingly he wrapped up the journey. An ending I never expected and one I do not think Liu would have come up with himself.

What a great series

The book series is wrapped up fantastically. So glad this novel exists. Without it, there would have been no true ending for The Remembrance Of Earth's Past trilogy.

It totally works

It starts with a too-long romantic account of life on Planet Blue, back filling ponderous details like only a sequel can. I was worried, for sure. But then that section ended, and I forgave it, because what book in the series doesn’t have a too-long romantic account? Plus, what came next was ridiculous, far-reaching, mind-blowing, glorious tales that swept across space and time. Again, aligned with all the other books, and taking things even further. So satisfying.
