“This is seriously good. I mean - seriously.” (Lee Child, number one New York Times best-selling author of Past Tense)

“Take my word for it, James Reece is one rowdy motherf***er. Get ready!” (Chris Pratt, star of The Terminal List, coming to Amazon Prime)

“A powerful, thoughtful, realistic, at times terrifying thriller that I could not put down. A terrific addition to the genre, Jack Carr and his alter-ego protagonist, James Reece, continue to blow me away.” (Mark Greaney, number-one New York Times best-selling author of Mission Critical)

True Believer, the highly anticipated new thriller from Jack Carr, is one of this year’s hottest thrillers, and a perfect fit for fans of Vince Flynn, Brad Thor, and Daniel Silva.” (The Real Book Spy)

In acclaimed author Jack Carr’s follow-up to The Terminal List, former Navy SEAL James Reece’s skill, cunning, and heroism put the US government back in his debt and set him on another path of revenge.

When a string of horrific terrorist attacks plagues the Western world during the holiday season, the broader markets fall into a tailspin. The attacks are being coordinated by a shadowy former Iraqi commando who has disappeared into Europe’s underground. The United States government has an asset who can turn the Iraqi against his masters: James Reece, the most-wanted domestic terrorist alive.

After avenging the deaths of his family and team members, Reece emerges deep in the wilds of Mozambique, protected by the family of his estranged best friend and former SEAL Team member. When a series of events uncovers his whereabouts, the CIA recruits him, using a Presidential pardon for Reece and immunity for the friends who helped him in his mission of vengeance.

Now a reluctant tool of the United States government, Reece travels the globe, targeting terrorist leaders and unraveling a geopolitical conspiracy that exposes a traitorous CIA officer and uncovers a sinister assassination plot with worldwide repercussions.

A high-intensity roller-coaster ride, True Believer explodes with action and authenticity that cements Jack Carr as the new leader in political thrillers.

Don't let the "redacted"

whiners stop you from grabbing this listen.

I've had this book in my wish list since it was released.....like a fool...I was put off the listen....by the reviews complaining about the use of the word "redacted".

I thoroughly enjoyed "The Terminal List" and now feel like a fool for not just grabbing this when it hit Audible.

"Maharushdie" The Doctor of Democracy mentioned it a few days ago, said he'd read it,was a great read and paralleled the news of the day.... and well...I thought ...W-T-H...d*mn the redacted...I'm going in...and so glad I did!

It's almost two stories blending into one, the first part is a bit gut wrenching, given the nature of the task Reece's take on. I apricated the fact Mr.Carr approached the need for better ways to control poachers without preaching at me. I don't need a social justice warrior disguised as a fiction writing author.

Mr.Carr doesn't even get close to that, he tells a compelling story about the bush and poachers.

When the story shifts to Reece stepping back into his rouge ex Seal shoes again, the action is non stop, the story at times feels ripped right out of todays headlines.

As far as the word "redacted" being used.....it doesn't ruin the story or the flow of the story at all. Some folks are just wound to tight..LOL.

I.M.O. it added a bit more intrigue to the theme. There's a few times it used...that almost strikes me that the word is being used for a satirical effect over actual need to avoid disclosures of some information.

Mr. Carr knows his stuff....he's not blowing smoke and the knowledge he has of firearms displayed in the story is wide in scope phenomenal.

Ray Porter has a spot on sense of the characters, the dialects, nuances, inflections, he nails it all. His ability to use a feminine lilt without sounding forced is a bonus, easy on the ears.
I feel an addiction coming on!!

Redacted

Good book, I have liked both so far, BUT, I get it he knows things we don’t have a “need to know” been there done that. It’s a work of fiction, just make up something. The whole redacted this and redacted paragraph that gets old quick and kills the momentum of the story in my opinion. Other than that I look forward to the next installment

Redacted

Good story, the redacted parts are silly and unnecessary. This is a work of fiction. Settle down

good follow up

l like this auther. story is engaging and not too make believe. also is over 15 hours long. not the run of the mill 9 hours super spy book. Ray Porter is on of the best readers in the biz along with Guidell.

Great Listen

True Believer follows up the great Terminal List very well. Solid writing, plot and enough action lead to an entertaining story. Ray Porter also did a great job narrating.

Jack Carr has definitely started a good series and I will be awaiting his next book.

Absolutely as good as they get!

Truly on par with Scot Harvath, Mitch Rapp, Jack Ryan, The Grey Man, extra. And that's inclusive of narration, extremely well done in every aspect. Even being that parts are, "Redacted." (You will understand the humor when listening)

World class authorship

A truly riveting experience to read. don't let the people complaining about the redaction stop you, it's really not bad.
As far as the story goes my only gripe is the first third of the book could have been it's own book all on its own, but I don't mind because it's incredibly well executed. The way Jack Carr writes characters reminds me of some great men I know in my life and it's a true experience listening to and reading the book.
This book and its series will have a permanent space on my shelf both on audible and in my home.

Very Gripping!

This is my 2nd book that I have read by Jack Carr. The first was Terminal List which was fantastic. This book True Believer, I think was even better! Great story line, told well. Jack makes you genuinely feel some of the emotions and trauma that Reese goes through.
