Resumen del Editor

Includes a bonus audio short story, “The Awakening,” a prelude.

Over the past two decades, Nick Horrigan has built a quiet, safe life for himself, living as much under the radar as possible. But all of that shatters when, in the middle of the night, a SWAT team bursts into his apartment, grabs him and drags him to a waiting helicopter. A terrorist - someone Nick has never heard of - has seized control of a nuclear reactor, threatening to blow it up. And the only person he’ll talk to is Nick, promising to tell Nick the truth behind the events that shattered his life twenty years ago.

At seventeen years old, Nick Horrigan made a deadly mistake - one that cost his stepfather his life, endangered his mother, and sent him into hiding for years. Now, what Nick discovers in that nuclear plant leaves him with only two choices - to start running again, or to fight and finally uncover the secrets that have held him hostage all these years.

As Nick peels back layer after layer of lies and deception, buffeted between the buried horrors of the past and the deadly intrigues of the present, he finds his own life - and the lives of nearly everyone he loves - at risk. And the only thing guiding him through this deadly labyrinth are his stepfather’s dying words: TRUST NO ONE.

Acclaimed for years by both critics and his peers as one of the finest thriller writers today, Gregg Hurwitz has lived up to all the accolades and expectations with Trust No One, an electrifying and compelling novel that will be remembered for years to come.

Definitely Do Not Trust Anyone

This was one of those, “can’t put it down” audiobooks! The story was captivating, made more special because it was narrated by my favorite story teller, Mr. Scott Brick Brick literally becomes each character as he reads.
You won’t want to stop listening!

Scott Brick is always a great narrator

This author seems to drag his books out longer than need be, but other than that it was a pretty good book.

Trust No One:

The twists and turns were not at all what I expected or what I thought they would be.
The ending was bittersweet but overall I liked the story.

Fast Read

I didn't realize this was an older book originally written in 2009. The date listed on the title details when I purchased was September 2020. It didn't matter a lot except that I was initially thrown off by the mention of old technology like pagers, blackberries, fax machines, etc.

The plot was interesting although unlikely. The writing in the first half of the book kept me engaged then in the last half of the book the author got overly descriptive and my mind started to wander. There weren't any twists in the book. It was fairly obvious how the book would end.

I really like Brick's voice but there are times when he is overexcited in his narration during a part where it is not warranted. I find if I speed up the book, it is not as annoying. His performance is closer to 3.5 stars but I rounded up to 4 stars because he does have a nice voice for this genre.

Sorry

Inconsequential drifting for two hours has no bearing on the story or the plot although I have liked his books in the past this was not a great effort

Great plot and plausible situation

Narration was excellent. Not a predictable ending and the lead up was great. Author and narrator are favorites of mine.

Great political thriller

I am not usually a fan of political thrillers, but I tried this one because it sounded interesting and was on sale. I loved it. I would put my headphones in every chance I got, even if for one minute.

I read other reviews about plausibility, and first off, this is fiction, and the only thing unplausible is that our protagonist shimmies through a few hot spots. I will say no more as not to spoil.

The 11 hours went by way too fast; I think because it is a very fast-paced book. It was never boring or dragged on.

I can't recommend it enough.

Very good guessing game.

I loved the suspension that was captured. Great read through and through. Would recommend to suspense and thriller readers.

Wow !!! Amazing, great story and narration.

Hurwitz does it again. Loved the story, the characters. I was at the end of my seat most of the times. I also cried some because it was so real and moving.
The narration was great !
