Story
Max was murdered, but now he is mostly over it. Living on earth as a recent college graduate, he can still perfectly recall his past life on the fantasy world of Albion before that. He'd been hailed as the "Hero of the World" after crawling his way up from poverty, eventually enjoying great fame and luxury. But on mana-starved Earth, he's just a guy.

Story
Miles “Shrug” Lindstrom has endured the first few days of his new monster-infested world. He has become the Champion of a god, and managed to become one of the most powerful survivors in his area. However, a new quest to kill a giant—a boss monster—will be difficult if not impossible to accomplish by himself. Gathering more power for himself is a safe bet towards all of his goals, and might be easier now that he has a class. But if this new world is anything, it’s uncertain.

If you lose, well, let's just say your chances of finding a decent bar in oblivion are slim.

An interesting assassin team that gets pulled into the apocalyptic tower. Jack is in the middle of his assignation of his target and gets hit with a stiff penalty. However the penalty could be a blessing. Great start to the series. Looking forward to book 2.

This is the second series (that I am aware of) that the author has deviated from his traditional approach of writing dungeon cores. While I enjoyed many of his previous books, his last two series outside of the dungeon core style have been amazing.

I was not sure what this series was going to be like. Would it be like the completionist chronicles, dungeon born, the Calandar series.
One thing that I highly suspected was that there would be puns. However, what was most exciting was that it was completely different from his other series. Additionally, the story, character development, and world are interesting and exciting.
