No characters with gray areas. predictable.
The religious right loves Forsctchen and he loves to pander to them.
All in all it is a pretty good book, but very far from great.
A bit dry and boring in too many parts.
Is probably a good example though of what life would be like in this situation.

Adult readers, B+
Young readers A-
This is a Juvenile book, but it is still good. Well written as you would expect, with one of King's better endings. Story is not too original but satisfying. Not really any scary parts in the book and the so called torture is like, he roughed the kid up. That and a sort of water boarding.
Book has an Orson Scott Card feel to it.
I recommend the book.
Now but an egg in your shoe and beat it.

Simak is one of the Sc-/fi writers from the Golden Age, who is still very readable today. This has two of my favorite subjects, dogs and Robots. As one reviewer mentions though, very little has to do with dogs. This is a group of short stories, involving the Webster family as told by Dogs, who inherit the Earth.

Like all groups of short stories, some are better than others. Personally I think this has more that are better, than you usually get in a collection. Like Bradbury's Martian Chronicles, these are expertly tied to together. I am a big a fan of microcosmic and macro cosmic world stories. The story about the ants, really caught my attention.

Don't let it stop you from getting the book, but the narrator is extremly slow, even on one and a quarter speed, he seemed slow

Like most middle age men, I avoided this thinking it would be silly or girly, etc. Like most of the times I have listened to a children's classic, I found it was intelligently written, very entertaining and just simply a pleasure to listen to. Written in 1911, it is as important for your child and you to read this now, as it was back than. I loved the message of get outside and explore. I loved the message of don't judge every book by it's cover. I loved the message of, people can change and often that change is brought on by the individuals they associate with.

I will probably listen to other versions of this as their are so many and I have trouble turning down a sale book, but I can't see how any versions, could be better read than this.

Do your self a favor and get this book

This is one of RAH's best collections and one of his best novels after the YA novels. If you want to take the glory out of space and show what it might be like for the every day Joe to live and work on space ships, this gives you a good feeling for it.

Weiner basically has one male voice and it is often hard to tell the gravely men apart.

This is a good story, one of Twain's best. Offerman is a great comedian and I loved him on Parks And Rec. But the two together should not Twain. Off has a deadpan delivery that works well in his comedy, but is awful for reading an exciting adventure such as this. This book has comedy, but not in the Off style. A lot of his fans love him and are giving him five stars, but don't believe it.

SHE CHOSE THE BLUE DRESS AND COMFORTABLE SHOES
Some female authors are my favorites, some who write like females are not. This is written in the way my wife explains to me how to take the laundry out of the washer and put it into the dryer, making me feel like a stupid kid. Lots of women and some men like to talk about every little thing in their life, few men do and most men could care less.

It is a subject that fascinates me, so about anything on the subject would warrant four stars. I learned a lot and it is still interesting and I will listen to more on the subject if there is any. Like another reviewer, it seemed like most of the book was opinion and not fact. I understand that AS was writing a book for the common layman, but it seemed like maybe she needed to do a little more research. Although she does start the book by explaining that their is not a lot on the subject matter. In that case the book should have been shorter and does she really think earthworms are beautiful, etc. There was probably more about organic gardening than worms. She often went of on tangents to the point where you are thinking and this has to do with worms, how?

If this author would have stuck to Just The Facts Mam, I probably would have enjoyed it. Although most of the facts, given to you like your some idiot, you already known. What killed this for me was the way too many jokes. The jokes were not that funny and as another reviewer says, this reads more like a James Bond Novel. Have you ever read a James Bond Novel? They are nothing like the movies. One of those cases where the movie is better than the book. Perhaps this will be made into a movie.
I also had trouble with the character. One minute he is a geeky unphysical YOGA BOY, the next minute he is james Bond. Make up your mind, which is he.

I could not get into this one.
