The story is weak. The readers, especially the current day reader is terrible. I rarely give up, but it’s the only answer on this book!

Story
Woodrow Wilson Nickel, age 105, feels his life ebbing away. But when he learns giraffes are going extinct, he finds himself recalling the unforgettable experience he cannot take to his grave. It’s 1938. The Great Depression lingers. Hitler is threatening Europe, and world-weary Americans long for wonder. They find it in two giraffes who miraculously survive a hurricane while crossing the Atlantic. What follows is a twelve-day road trip in a custom truck to become Southern California’s first giraffes. Behind the wheel is the young Dust Bowl rowdy Woodrow.

It’s really sad that there are only five stars to award - this story needs more! An 18 year old depression era boy helps transport giraffes across the country in 1938. It’s an epic journey! A must read book.

Story
When Van Tudor returns to his childhood home, he inherits more than the family farm. His grandfather used to tell him fantastic stories of spacemen and monsters, princesses and galactic knights. Little did Van realize, the old man's tales were more than fiction; they were real. Hidden beneath the old barn, Van’s legacy is waiting: a starship, not of this world. With his combat AI, an android bird named Perry, Van takes his first steps into the wider galaxy. He soon finds that space is far busier and more dangerous than he could have ever conceived.

I really didn’t expect to like this book, but I hadn’t read a SciFi book in awhile. What a wonderful surprise! This was a really fun experience, starting with the discovery of the barn that was really a space port!

Story
Ignatius Perrish spent the night drunk and doing terrible things. He woke up the next morning with a thunderous hangover, a raging headache, and a pair of horns growing from his temples. At first Ig thought the horns were a hallucination, the product of a mind damaged by rage and grief. He had spent the last year in a lonely, private purgatory, following the death of his beloved, Merrin Williams, who was raped and murdered under inexplicable circumstances.

I usually like Mr. Hill, but I just can’t like this effort. I almost stopped listening a dozen times, but stocked out. Now I’m finished and I can’t figure out why I didn’t quite. Don’t even try if teenager locker room language isn’t your thing.

Body by body, she’s followed the clues all the way back to her hometown. And every step of the way, the killer has been following her. Beneath the glamour of the privileged Hamptons community is a secret long buried but never forgotten. It’s bigger than Lilah. It’s powerful enough to escape the reach of the FBI. And it’s more personal than anyone can imagine. Because it’s hiding in Lilah’s own past.

I’m sorry!
Reviewed: 09-19-18
I’m sorry I wasted my time on two book, “Murder Notes” and “Murder Girl”, which BTW, are really one story - the first book ends in mid-thought. Ms. Love and I have parted company and, with luck our paths will not cross again. She is not a nice person, and her mouth simply doesn’t help. I’ve spent an embarrassing amount of time in her first person head. I can’t recommend these books to anyone!
