Historia
Ahren can hardly believe his luck. His apprenticeship finally comes to an end, and Khara's interest in him is growing by the minute. He and his companions leave the Southern Jungles and sail westward, this time in search of two Paladins, who are apparently living a peaceful existence on one of the Isles of the Cutlass Sea. Yet their quest proves full of difficulties, for a war among the pirates has transformed the Cutlass Sea into a bubbling cauldron, hiding its own tragic drama.

Good Story & narration, bad editing
Revisado: 07-24-24
This was along the lines of the first 4 books. Well written, interesting, and well narrated. Toward the middle and end of the story, there was editing flub after editing flub. It was irritating but didn't take too much away from the story. I really expect a more professional job for Audible titles. Other than that irritation, the story continues and is consistently good.

Somewhere between pretty good and great
Revisado: 07-15-24
Good Story, well told, very good narration. A little bit slow paced, but overall, I enjoyed the story immensely and will most likely get book 2 once I've caught up on my backlog of books.

Historia
Years ago, Morgan and his team entered the Tower of Power. By the time they left, their raid group was reduced to only a handful of its members. They had faced the Tower and forces that they were never supposed to know about, and they had paid a high price to survive, but they had prevailed. Within the Tower they had learned the secrets and achieved great power. But now, they were in the Tower so long, and the world on the outside was different from what they had faced in the Tower. Morgan had been given a choice: to stay in the Tower or to leave the World and join his father - Oxylus.

A lot of promise, but I'm disappointed
Revisado: 07-12-24
This story line of this book seemed to be on track, but the author just didn't provide content that kept my attention. These last few books have been difficult to finish and if they weren't on Audible Plus, I would never have spent a credit on them. I kept losing focus on the story because the content just wasn't interesting to me. I've read a lot of LitRPG stories and maybe I'm just getting burned out, but I don't feel the author provided interesting content in an enjoyable format after book 2. The story has promise, but I just can't keep my focus on the story.

Historia
When Morgan got hit by a car and died on Earth, he never imagined that he would be chosen by a god, little g, to be taken to another planet - a World governed by game-like rules. Especially since said god liked to have people call him the Great Lord, and had basically created an entire World to run experiments in. Nor could Morgan have ever imagined that he would find one thing that he had never really had on Earth: a real family. It's been years since Morgan started his second chance at life on that world, and both he and his friends have achieved great power as part of a Great Raid.

A little better than 4, but not much
Revisado: 07-11-24
There was more semi-interesting content in this one, but the story is still suffering from uninteresting blow by blow descriptions of fights and a lack of general interest grabbing content. This series is on Audible Plus, so I'll listen to the next book, but I wouldn't spend credits to finish this series.

Historia
Morgan and his friends won the right to be a part of an expedition to the Tower of Power. Part of a raid group that was led by two Great Guilds, and had the intention of conquering the Tower. But, no one who had ventured beyond the third floor had ever returned. Adventuring might be a dangerous profession, and ascended might encounter death at every turn, but there is a reason why most do not attempt to climb the Tower. For most ascended going into the Tower is a risk not worth taking, in opinions of some, it was equal to suicide.

Getting harder to listen to
Revisado: 07-11-24
I've found this story a bit hard to listen to at times, but the overall story was good and some good ideas mixed in made it a good listen. I'm starting to have more trouble focusing on this story. I'm losing interest as the author put out blow by blow of an uninteresting fight. I'm also having trouble keeping interested in the story due to lackluster content. I'm going to give the next book a chance, but unless the author brings on his "A game," I don't see myself finishing this series.

Good
Revisado: 06-30-24
I kind of feel like I did with book number 7. The story was good, the characters were good, etc., but it's just not keeping my attention as much as the earlier books. I'd rank this with book 7 in that it's a must for those following the series and it's still a good listen, just not as much new, clever, and exciting as earlier books. Unless the author has some new life to breath into the series, he may just have to start winding this series up. It's been a good ride and I'd hate to have the overall series ruined if the author decides to keep going without new and mind blowing ideas.

He has the ability to modify any item he owns; to upgrade anything. Sounds great on paper. Almost like a video game. Except that the amount of power it takes to actually change, modify, or upgrade anything worthwhile is beyond his abilities. At least, that was until Felix leveraged a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to give himself a great deal of points. Investing in Super Heroes and Super Villains and owning them. Using them, Felix built up an empire: an organization by the name of Legion.

A little bit lazy
Revisado: 06-27-24
I just finished book 5 and didn't see a review for book 4, so I re-listened to it. I think I was probably a bit frustrated as the potential for this series is awesome, but the author is being a bit lazy and leaning on the "harem" part of the story as an easy way to add content. Maybe that is what a lot of his readers want, but I find the harem part more of a distraction than a plus for the story. Also, the author doesn't do the harem portion very well and just keeps repeating the same old stuff over and over again. The storyline is great other than the excessive harem portions, the universe of the story is great, the characters are mostly great. It seems like Mr. Arand thinks that it's necessary to have one of Felix's women say, "I'll do *anything*, I'll *bleep* and *bleep* and *bleep* every 20 minutes. I don't remember the subservience and ego boosting of the MC being so repetitive and obnoxious in the first two books. Since I've already read book 5, I can say that I don't think it was as bad in book 5, so maybe other readers brought this to his attention and he slowed his roll. Anyway, I *DO* like the story and it's entertaining, but this is not the best book in the series. You'll have to read it if you are following the series. I'm glad I got this on sale and didn't need to use a credit.

A good listen
Revisado: 06-24-24
I've enjoyed the story and characters. I think the first book was better than this one and I think he leans too much on the I'm just a super intelligent, greedy, 11-year old, but I'm going to conquer the world thing, but it only detracts a little bit from the story. My main complaint would be that in book 2, the interesting group of characters was removed which only left three or four characters to draw you into the story. That said, the story was engaging and it was a good read. I'll watch for book 3 if/when it's released.

Not so good
Revisado: 06-22-24
I thought book 1 was very good, book 2 was less good, and book 3 isn't "all that." I was going to end this series on book 2, but a really good sale got me this book for under $5, so I figured, "what the heck." The story wasn't as engaging, the characters were a bit flat without much growth, and the pace was a bit awkward. I really want to like this series. I think the concepts are good and characters have a lot of potential. The problem is that the author just doesn't do a good job pulling this story together. Mr. Podehl did a very good and professional job as narrator, but this isn't a big surprise. A lot of times out of laziness, I just tag everything as the same number of stars since Audible started requiring a star rating for performance and story as well as an overall star rating, In this case, I think it's worth noting that the narration was very good despite the story struggling. I doubt I'll continue with this series, but who knows if another sub-$5 sale or this series moving to Audible Plus will get me to continue. I would not spend a credit on continuing this series.

Very good
Revisado: 06-21-24
I was afraid that the series would start failing since the MC hit the doom limiter in the last book and nothing really happened. Instead, the author created a new apocalypse counter and I was wondering if that would mean nothing as well. The MC was already way OP and that was the limiter. The author still dodges around playing at the edges of his character just doing anything without consequence, but this book put a real consequence in place for the MC if he doesn't keep things in check. The author has rolled out two new main challenges that I'm sure we will see in the next book(s). This has been a good series and I've enjoyed it. I'll definitely get the next book soon.
