230 BC - The first sovereign emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang, has consolidated his ultimate power with battles against the last of the dissenting tribes of China. With one last province to take, he knows he will be pitted against the one man he fears - his mysterious half brother, Li Zhang, leader of a peaceful province to the north. The new emperor's goal was to murder Li Zhang for the secrets he has kept from the world that would give Qin Shi Huang the power to strike beyond the borders of ancient China. Sometimes a series gets a bit routine, this one is anything but routine! It has the same amazing characters that are brought to life by Nick Prodehl and are as funny as ever. You get so invested with some of these characters when something happens, you feel it in your bones.
I am going to read his Sentinels of Creation series next because I loved Robert's writing style so much. Looking forward to more adventures from the Bladerunner crew. Also thanks for all the geek and nostalgic references throughout the series!!

Less than three months have passed since Captain Charlotte Omandi and the crew of Earth’s first starship, the TSS Bladerunner, narrowly prevented an extinction-level event from wiping out humanity. Omandi knows Earth remains on borrowed time, until she meets with leaders of the Galactic Confederation to convince them that our planet no longer represents a threat. As she and her crew prepare to become the first humans to travel outside our solar system, a string of assassination attempts lead them to an unlikely mystery.

The story continues to be amazing and picks up right away. There are great new characters introduced that like the original crew you find yourself cheering for and feeling like they are family.
The story is so funny and touching at the same time. You start to anticipate what each of them is going to say.

Story
In 2004, Doctor Damien Howard's 131st birthday celebration took an unexpected turn. His personal SETI project detected an extraterrestrial signal directed at Earth. Unfortunately, Dr. Howard's long-hoped-for communication contained a message of dire warning rather than greeting. In 1945, humanity had become a species of galactic interest and was given 100 years to address the issue.

This book was in my queue for a couple of months waiting to be listened to. After starting to listen to it, I could not put it down and immediately bought the next two in the series. The characters pull you in and you find yourself rooting for, empathizing with and feeling like they are good friends. Nick Podehl does an amazing job bringing the story to life.
I am now going to listen to his Sentinels of Creation series. I loved these books without reading the somewhat related series and don't feel like I missed anything other than some nice tie-ins. So this is a stand alone series and is highly recommended!!

This is another great story by Douglas E Richards! It has so many great themes that are applicable today and you can easily see these new innovations in the very near future. Really enjoyed the plot twists and duplicity! Also loved Karen's monologue near the end of the story - no spoilers but she was spot on with the narrative. Looking forward to more great EHO stories.
I have read all of his novels and will read any more than come out!

Some of the performance assumed you could figure out what is going on and most of the time you can. At one point I was like wait what just happened.
That said it was a fun and quick story.

Amelia Charron is a neuroscientist researching brain disorders. She routinely uses astonishing mind-linking technology that allows her to enter the dream world of patients. Each night, Amelia acts as a guide through the bizarre wonderland of the mind-an assisted lucid dream. It's a technique that reroutes neural pathways to heal the brain, but it's not without psychological dangers for both the patient and the guide. Orlando Kwon will do anything to keep the frightening voices at bay. Alien voices, he's sure, but he has no idea what they are saying.

One tangent in the book that I don’t know why it was added. It contains a spoiler so not going to say which but overall a great story.
Would love a follow up book like 25 years later, where are we now!
