Story
For Dee Kwan, every day is the perfect day. No, really. She has a house she loves, a job she adores, and a ridiculously attractive “nemesis” who never seems to mind when she wins their favorite online game. How can life possibly get better? (It can’t, obviously. It can only get much, much worse.) Soon Dee is forced to share her adorably cozy home with her parents and estranged grandmother. Then she’s tossed into the deep end at work, tasked with cleaning up a scandal for the intimidatingly chic luxury fashion firm Celeste. If that weren’t enough, she discovers her hot nemesis works there, too.

but this story ended up totally engaging me. If it feels sluggish about 1/3rd of the way through, stick with it. I came to love all of the characters and realize this author has a serious strength for writing and really letting the reader get to know an array of interesting secondary characters. The path to knowing them is so subtle that I'm struck by how much I found myself loving them. This is a relaxing, charming listen with beautiful character growth. Highly recommend.

Story
Sometimes I wonder what life was like before magic burst into existence, before the Magical War of 810 destroyed our world. What it was like before there were Wyrd Blood, or we were forced into hiding. And that's what I've been doing for years, hiding me and my crew. But that's about to end. My crew is starving and things are getting dire. When I get desperate enough to try and steal from Ryker, one of the toughest men around, things go bad and my Wyrd Blood origins are outed. But it's not all bad. Ryker can help keep me alive from the mysterious illness that's been plaguing me

Wrong narrator

The fmc is a very young woman. It's endlessly jarring to hear the narrator's mismatched mature voice. I'd assume effort to match narrators voice age with that of the main character being narrated would be made. Yet that didn't happen in this case and the listeners experience is less for it.

What an excellent story! I loved every single episode. The writing was perfection as was the voice acting. Intro and end of podcast music selections quickly became an organic part of each episode. Sound effects were...among the best I've heard. And one person did it all. One. Leaves me stunned. One prolific talented artist wrote all episodes, played every diverse role, completed all of the technical work of sound effects, music, editing and production. She is honestly a talent rarely seen, a real genius. I've been listening to podcasts since this form of entertainment first emerged. Never came across someone so gifted. I can't imagine the work it took to complete this serial. I'm so grateful to the creator for hours and hours of first class sci-fi.

This was excellent! Nice, reality I based sci-fi. The idea of a planet being utilized this way by powerful military entities in this planetary system makes sense. The military doesn't always want to lose those enlisted who f-up. The supply shortages make sense too, as there is conflict in the system and a planet that's basically a military prison is low priority for supplies. The characters are well developed, voice acting excellent. The series is well written with excellent dialogue between characters exposing interpersonal conflicts and increasingly complex relationships as very few live in close quarters for a long time. I'm dying to know what happens next but I can't find any info about this excellent sci-fi podcast dropping more episodes.

Her therapist parents are constantly funny as are the ghosts. The storyline is engaging. This is an excellent podcast.

I LOVED this alternate history audible comedy. Omg, was it well written! What a treat! The raunchy bigotry of the 1960s is on full display in all of its stupid glory! We'd like to think the misogyny is exaggerated for comedic purposes but the sad truth is that the story reflects 60s reality. Our hero is a brilliant, irreverent, whiskey drinking, veteran nurse. She lives on a space station next to the moon. JFK is potus in his third term. Richard Nixon is a loser who wants more in his life. Golden globe award winner for comedic talent Jerry Lewis makes an appearance, as does Dean Martin. This is once of the funniest stories I've heard. I loved it. The voice acting was amazing also!

For 40 years, Colony 3245.12 has been Ofelia’s home. On this planet far away in space and time from the world of her youth, she has lived and loved, weathered the death of her husband, raised her one surviving child, lovingly tended her garden, and grown placidly old. And it is here that she fully expects to finish out her days - until the shifting corporate fortunes of the Sims Bancorp Company dictates that Colony 3245.12 is to be disbanded, its residents shipped off, deep in cryo-sleep, to somewhere new and strange and not of their choosing.

What an absolute gem this book is. Its sci-fi with human colonies theme is done perfectly. The author is incredible. Her handling of the fmc is so tender and respectful. The author seems to understand this elderly woman intimately. Having worked geriatrics in my past, I was struck by the authors ability to bring the reader into the old woman's sphere so thoroughly. Its been so long since a book hit me this deeply but the authors gentle handling of her increasingly frail elderly woman character is unbelievably authentic. I've never read anything like it. So very beautiful. I strongly recommend.
