Story
Tory Bodeen grew up in a run-down house where her father ruled with an iron fist and a leather belt - and where her dreams and talents had no room to flourish. Her one escape was her neighbor Hope, who lived in the big house just a short skip away, and whose friendship allowed Tory to be something she wasn’t allowed to be at home: a child. Then Hope was brutally murdered, and everything fell apart.

Amazing story. Horrible narrator.
Reviewed: 08-23-22
I always loved this story (it’s one of the my favorite Nora Roberts classic books) but the narrator is one of the worst ever. I hope they someday update to a better narration. It’s even difficult sometimes to understand who is talking if you not paying close attention.

It was fun to listen this and a bit scary to think of. In fact, I always wondered about this possibility since I started to listen True Crime podcasts some years ago.

Too much of swear words and creepy sex
Reviewed: 04-28-22
The best part of this book is the end. In all levels. I just had to advance and pass through all the sex scenes. They were boring. And too long. And repeated ALWAYS the same things. Even the same phrases. Unbelievable! And why they have to say F*** so many times. I mean, I’m not a saint or a prude but most of the times were totally unnecessary. The same with the sex. Irritating and unnecessary. And not hot at all. Some Harlequin books have much better sex scenes. I think this book was a waste of time. I read because I wanted to know what happened but really, it could be shrank down to about a half and it would be much better. Sarah is regurgitating her own words most of the times. I’ll probably will read the next one because the crossover. But I don’t plan to ever read this one again. It was horrible.

When Edward Cullen and Bella Swan met in Twilight, an iconic love story was born. But until now, fans have heard only Bella's side of the story. At last, listeners can experience Edward's version in the long-awaited companion novel, Midnight Sun. This unforgettable tale as told through Edward's eyes takes on a new and decidedly dark twist. Meeting Bella is both the most unnerving and intriguing event he has experienced in all his years as a vampire.

What if Mary Bennet’s life took a different path from that laid out for her in Pride and Prejudice? What if the frustrated intellectual of the Bennet family, the marginalized middle daughter, the plain girl who takes refuge in her books, eventually found the fulfillment enjoyed by her prettier, more confident sisters? This is the plot of The Other Bennet Sister, a debut novel with exactly the affection and authority to satisfy Austen fans.

I really loved this book!
Reviewed: 06-04-20
I don’t usually read books based on P&P. I don’t really know why since it’s one of my favorite books! I read or listen at least once an year for almost 30 years now!!!! It’s my comfort book, like my therapist says. I love it! I love Persuasion as well, but I’m always drawn to P&P.
I’m drawn to Persuasion because I totally identify with Anne. And so I identify myself with Mary as well. I always felt a bit angry that she was basically forgotten in the book. She was less important than the servents. Or almost as important.
And than I read a review telling about this book. OMG!!! I’m so happy that I got it! It’s such a perfect book! Such a perfect ending. And I’m so very happy right now for being able to listen to it (I’m sick and when in pain I don’t have much focus to read. Even to listen new books so I reread a lot. But this was like encountering an old friend.) I’m so very happy! I totally recommend this book!!!!
