Jack Carr hits it out the park with this one… maybe a few too many wine references, but over all a great book. Ray Porter is the best at what he does!

Mitch Rapp hates owing anyone a favor—especially when it’s the world’s most powerful crime lord. But when Damian Losa calls, Mitch is honor bound to answer. The Syrian government has created a highly addictive new narcotic that it plans to distribute throughout Europe. It’s a major threat to Losa’s business and he’s determined to stop it by any means necessary. Rapp is the perfect choice for the mission. Not only does he have extensive experience operating in the Middle East, but he’s also entirely expendable.

In the war-ravaged borderlands of Ukraine, a Russian mercenary unit has gone rogue. Its members, conscripted from the worst prisons and mental asylums across Russia, are the most criminally violent, psychologically dangerous combatants to ever set foot upon the modern battlefield. With all attention focused on the frontlines, they have pushed deeper into the interior to wage a campaign of unspeakable barbarity. As they move from village to village, committing horrific war crimes, they meet little resistance as all able-bodied men are off fighting the war.

Pro-Ukraine War Propaganda Piece. I’ve read or listen to every book in the Harvath series, this one is terrible. It’s fluff piece full of pro-big government/ pro- Ukraine propaganda, Thor is delusional and has lost touch with his readers. The FBI agents go on a anti conspiracy pro big government rant for almost an entire chapter. The Z that is brought up early on is a know symbol of a Ukrainian military group called Azov Assault Brigade who’s flag looks very close to a swastika and is well documented to be Nazi influenced, yet Thor calls them Russians. I get that Harvath hates the Russians but at least try to make the story believable.
