Story
My life was going just fine by most standards. I ran a successful business in a tight-knit magical community, and lived just blocks from a beautiful lake and series of hiking trails. Then Selene showed up. According to some magical code I inherit my aunt's ancient familiar; a grumpy ten-pound cat with a broken filter. She fancies herself something of a saber-toothed tiger, and claims to have wrestled the thread of her ninth life from the hands of the Fates themselves—although, I'm pretty sure that last part isn't true. Almost positive.

Story
Miracle Springs is a place of healing. Strangers flock there hoping that the natural hot springs, five-star cuisine, and renowned spa can cure their ills. And, if none of that works, they often find their way to Miracle Books, where, over a fresh-baked scone from the Gingerbread House bakery, they exchange their stories with owner Nora Pennington in return for a carefully chosen book. That's Nora's special talent: prescribing the perfect novel to ease a person's deepest pain and lighten their heaviest burden.

Takes you back in time
Reviewed: 04-27-17
What made the experience of listening to Sherlock Holmes the most enjoyable?
Stephen Fry does an amazing job reading these stories. His take on the characters is flawless. I also enjoyed his introductions to the stories. Having a glimpse into the life of this well trained actor is a great bonus!
What other book might you compare Sherlock Holmes to and why?
I wouldn't compare another book to Sherlock Holmes. While one may think detecting and ferreting out clues is done easily by many other characters in other books, Sherlock's eccentricity creates an air that hasn't been repeated.
Have you listened to any of Stephen Fry’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first Fry performance I have listened to though I am familiar with his movies. I will definitely look for other performances!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
These stories get me back and forth to work each day and keep me from losing my mind in DFW traffic.
Any additional comments?
Bravo Mr. Fry!

Her rules are strict; relationships with vamps are strictly business, not friendship - and certainly not anything else.
