Enjoyed the narration… easy to follow characters. Great portrayal of a bit of humor in difficult situations, typical of many women I know.

A sad story. I thought about not finishing it many times, but I hate to quit on a book. A lackluster ending. Narrator was good.

I enjoy reading historical fiction especially WWII. The focus on Red Cross workers who were not nurses was a new focus. Also it appealed to me as my husband’s cousin was a “Donut Dolly” during the Vietnam War. Just a personal note…She loved referring to herself as a “Donut Dolly”.

I almost stopped reading due to the way the author told the story in “past” and “present”, but I continued. Narration was excellent. Story kept me intrigued.

Historical fiction is a favorite of mine. The storyline spans over a century and appealed to the novice genealogist I have become. My only criticism is some of the narrative of the male characters was difficult to listen too.

The narration was ok and that was the best part. I could not get into the story…. I found it a bit silly…,not the kind of story I enjoy.

An easy read that contains some mystery, some sorrow, and many happy events. Narration was excellent as it was easy to tell which character was speaking.

The narrator was very good, but the story was so slow to begin…..I almost gave up. I continued listening, thinking it must improve and it did. The author covered a historic event that I had not given much thought to and I appreciated the point of view she wrote about.
