This book is so sad and heartbreaking and yet so beautiful. Kerry fisher has such a gift for writing. I become so engrossed in the characters and story it’s almost like someone is telling me the story while we sit and drink tea. This story is about a mother’s love and bond to our babies. So happy to have discovered this author I’ve loved all her books.

A beautiful story told between two timelines and two different women. Heartbreaking in so many ways. An in depth look into the lives of people driven to help with the civil rights movement and the sacrifices they made. Also the pain and suffering endured by so many. Loved this book.

Weird twists
Reviewed: 10-11-24
This book was my first by this author. The book has a lot of twists and weird turns but kept me engaged. I’ll def try some other books by this author. If I had one criticism of this book it would only be that the narrators voice seemed alot older than the main characters age and it threw me off. The narrator sounds like a much older woman.

Not a horribly bad book or story but for whatever reason I just could not get into it. I never became invested in the characters or story and literally slogged thru a book that could have taken me only a few
Days to finish. I’m glad it’s over. Not sure I will revisit this author. As a side note I think I am also tiring of this narrator. Her inflection and style doesn’t seem to Change between books and I think I need a break from
Her overused voice.
