I love Tessa Dare. But this narrator… She’s terrible. Why on earth did they pick a narrator with a LISP?! Is wildly distracting.

Story
My fresh start turned into a dumpster fire. Awesome new job. Small town heaven. Friendly faces galore. Then I strolled into my new home and found the unspeakable. Just when I'm sure it can't get worse, I'm “rescued” by a man who makes me see red for miles. Enter Lucas Graves. A bossy grump with a badge who's sworn to keep me safe. He rocks the scary-hot vibe, he reads too much, and he never misses a chance to give me crap for being a nerdy little cactus who mouths back. Not the type of man I'd go for in my right mind. Definitely not the type I should keep trading bruising kisses with.

Not grumpy- not Foster
Reviewed: 07-09-24
First- they act like the mmc is super grumpy- he’s not. He’s totally delightful.
My biggest complaint is that this is not remotely how foster care works. They don’t just take babies for no reason. Then keep them until they’re 18 with no contract or opportunities for the parents. The goal is reunification of baby and the parent. If she lost contact with her child, it’s because she wasn’t willing to go through the requirements and stopped contact of her own volition. Supposedly this mother did all these things like starting a business and changing her financial situation but they still wouldn’t give her baby back? Nah that’s not how it works. It doesn’t benefit the state to take a child, care for them indefinitely, refuse reunification when the parent has proven to be a safe and healthy place for the child. And they don’t just sever all contract and hide the identity of the parent from the child. In my state parents is infants get 5x a week visitation! Supervised visitation and it’s only for an hour or so. But a mother of a baby can see her baby 5x a week.

Sometimes I need an escape from the demands, the puck bunnies, and the notoriety that come with being an NHL team captain. I just want to be a normal guy for a few weeks. So when I leave Chicago for some peace and quiet, the last thing I expect is for a gorgeous woman to literally fall into my lap on a flight to Alaska. Even better, she has absolutely no idea who I am.

For the love of all that is holy… IT’S CALLED A TRICORN not a “three pointed hat”
Over all enjoyable enough, but definitely nothing superb. And I’m wildly irritated by a person who decides to write a historical story but can’t be bothered to learn the proper name of a piece of attire then REPEATEDLY use the wrong term. Like nails on a chalkboard

So very terrible
Reviewed: 07-12-23
This is one of the worst books ever. The plot barely makes sense, the characters are all completely awful and unlikable people, and the end feels wildly unsatisfying. I kept waiting for the characters to grow as people but no- they just continue to be awful. “They made her a killer… she chose to be a hero” was a total load of Bologna.

Stupid
Reviewed: 09-22-22
This girl is stupid. They’ve barely known each other a minute and she’s all “he’s the best friend I’ve ever had!” Isn’t remotely interested in him, super interested in the brother and other men as well, but then she’s suddenly in love with the MC!? No real relationship develops between them. Then she’s all ticked at the brother from, immature albeit, but also not irrational jealousy. She COULD have tried to help them with through their issues by having a kindly discussion with the brother about his jealousy but no- she just decides he’s a total jerk. Then they ridiculousness when they sleep together- it’s just absurd. Would not recommend and won’t read any other this author.
The Narrator is delightful however

Reviewed: 09-12-22
I have loved these light hearted cheerful stories. I didn’t care for what a wench Zara acted like in the last one, this one wasn’t much better. Can’t believe ***SPOILER ALERT *** she killed Bentley. Seriously considering returning this and I honestly don’t know if I’ll be listening to future installments, honestly Bentley was one of the very best parts of the whole story. There was no reason to kill him.

The vampire Wulfe is missing. Since he’s deadly, possibly insane, and his current idea of “fun” is stalking me, some may see it as no great loss. But, warned that his disappearance might bring down the carefully constructed alliances that keep our pack safe, my mate and I must find Wulfe—and hope he’s still alive. As alive as a vampire can be, anyway.

If you’re going to write a book that centers around pregnancy/birth/babies, can you PLEASE do some research. 2 weeks isn’t considered early. They do not give steroids to develop lungs at 38 weeks. Other inaccuracies also but sheesh….
