so many things not to like about this book...but Bo especially. He had few redeeming qualities and his willingness to think the worst of Tess was annoying.

In general, the book was fine. Progressive character development through the series, decent story. But.... babies don't starve to death in 12-18 hours. Mention it once...OK... but over & over & over again. The murder took place shorty before midnightish.....grandma showed up 11:45 a.m., legit, most of that time the kid would have been sleeping on a normal night... so breakfast was late. Totally spoiled the book.

Not even the slightest bit "historical".... and the whole situation is just eye-rolling... not even worth listening to for "free".

generally a good book. While it didn't compel me to skip other things to finish it, it was a decent story. The narrator tended to repeat voices, and some ofv the chapter transitionsc were a little confusing.

The story was kind of long...i know some things were supposed to be funny... but they grated (shapewear, grandparents bickerong etc). i almost didn't finish. I'm not going to pay for the next book.

I was ambivalent about the first book, but had hopes the author would improve. Nope. Characters are shallow. Research is thin... the whole overnight in the wilderness without appropriate clothes, shooting her gun in the air, running out of food in 1 hour etc was laughable. The transition to finding the body was non-existent. I legit went back to relisten as I thought my audiobook skipped part of the story. The build up of romance between Maddie & Cole reminds me of an a 1950s YA series....we haven't even gotten to hand-holding yet. Ans Cole... never thinking of poison/drugs with the horse? And some ofv the questions they ask when "investigating" are comically stereotypical. I almost didn't finish this one. i did, but I'm not continuing the series.

mixed feeling about this book.

The whole "a bad Dad is better than no Dad" attitude by multiple women in this book was bothersome, but I guess those are personal feelings based on experience. I also thought she was extremely naive about the whole custody issue, especially considering the international aspect. Involving him so soon in her (high risk) pregnancy also didn't ring true.

The end? That didn't ring true... so many unanswered questions and meticulous planning followed by no plan.

i listened to this book for "free", haven't decided yet if I'll use a credit to try another by this author.

not sure I'd call this a Rom- com, but i did enjoy the story. Nice narration, and good resolutions at the end.
