Lynn Raven may be the boss master of WarMonger 2050 with her online persona of "Larry the Snake", but when the CEO of Tsunami Entertainment personally asks her, as a favor, to beta test a new augmented-reality game, she has to face her greatest fear: going outside and dealing with, ugh, people.

John Ringo writes some good stuff. This one is toned down from much of his other work, which is not a bad thing. I don't think the "cliffhanger" is much a surprise. Reminds me of Ender's Game. If you liked EG, you will enjoy this story. If you are too young to have read Ender's Game (don't watch the movie) finish this story and go get a copy and read it.

The long-awaited sequel to Jake’s Magical Market is finally here—and now with more market! Well, not quite yet. First, Jake has to survive a perilous trek through time if he ever hopes to return home to his friends, his market, and his former world. The last time we saw our intrepid hero, Jake had barely managed to escape being trapped on a dead version of his own world. Using a combination of his new powers, he threw himself backward through time, back to when the god that trapped him first rose to power.

I understand Travis Baldree is celebrity. I enjoy his narration style, but he is the only great voice performer. John is excellent. I did not feel any disconnect between the reading. Well done guys.

It's wasn't the worst I have listened to
Reviewed: 11-20-23
I like there was a unique setting, feudal Japan. I found the RPG elements to be a little confusing. Did I miss he could pick other races/classes? The overt PK story was disappointing. Did I miss something about the PK protection? I thought there was a level gap permitted before killing someone. Why would these higher leveled ninjas be chasing him? And being able to kill him? The world is built for the worst things about humanity to thrive. Did not like that. Didn't finish the book.

Story
House Gracefall wasn’t anything like what Derek had imagined it would be. Instead of rage and anger at the loss of one of their young masters, House Gracefall showed humility and even apologized. Despite one noble house exemplifying honor and nobility, another awaited to reinforce the negative stereotypes that Derek had been anticipating all along. Somehow, out of all that, Derek made a new friend, a new business partner, and learned some secrets, while Silvi got her first taste of the real world of cooking and loved it.

Story
When Michael Moorcock began chronicling the adventures of the albino sorcerer Elric, last king of decadent Melniboné, and his sentient vampiric sword, Stormbringer, he set out to create a new kind of fantasy adventure, one that broke with tradition and reflected a more up-to-date sophistication of theme and style. The result was a bold and unique hero: a rock-and-roll antihero who would channel all the violent excesses of the '60s into one enduring archetype.

WTH is up with the forward?
Reviewed: 07-17-23
I was looking forward to hear Neil's thoughts on Morcock. I did not expect that much on, nvm. Disappointed I didn't get to hear how Elric influenced his own stories. I think Neil needs counseling about what happened in his youth. Also is there a statue of limitations in England?

Took awhile to get past the MCs chosen accent. It flips from Slavic to Scotts, overall not good.
For the record, cats don't wag their tails. They twitch or flick their tail.
I agree with everyone else about the narrator. Funny thing is, his regular voice is very good. Stop with the accents.
I wasted a credit but at least is wasn't money.

He lacks the strength to save the world himself, but resolves to do it anyway, impossible be damned. The impossible, in this case, means seizing a power that no mortal should touch. It's a choice from which there is no turning back, and marks Jason's first step into a wider cosmos that he is not yet ready to face. Holding the fate of two worlds in his hands, Jason must decide for himself what home truly means.

Drew and his team are the entire counter-offensive plan against the Naga. He knows that the serpents must be dealt with, but watching the Sidhe forces take the nodes near his old home, and turn them violet, is weighing on him. Even worse than the external threat is that the gathered humans are beginning to fracture into factions with competing desires. Drew’s only possible response to the humans, the aliens, and the strange, urban jungle appearing across the Potomac is to increase the count of his own red nodes and build up his strength; all in a race to save humanity.
