Story
The Revelation: A name given to an event that, five years ago, changed the world forever. In a single day, humanity discovered that not only were they not alone, but they were not exactly at the top of the food chain. Living in the shadows for millennia, supernaturals now had no choice but to finally come into the light. Because of the fury of a mad god, humans and supernaturals now had to learn to coexist side by side for the first time in living memory. With the revelation that magic was not only real but far more common than fairy tales led them to believe, a new society had to be born.

Surprisingly good slice of life / academy story
Reviewed: 05-27-24
Solid character building and decent world building. The plot is fairly light hearted up till the end and its fun ride along the way. Narration is great as is expected of Raya. This was my first book with Richard narrating but he did a pretty good job as well. IMO it's worth the credit and I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Story
Samuel Eamon just barely escaped capture from the Justicars, but his freedom almost cost him everything. Without his own name, without the future he always yearned for, things seem bleak for the young Summoner. Or, at least, they would...if he didn't have her. Samuel and Aurora retreat into anonymity, posing as a young married couple working for a rural wing of the Mysterium. For now, their lives are a romantic pastoral fantasy brought to life, but both of them know that won't last for long.

A great second entry for the series.
Reviewed: 10-06-23
Book two of the Succubus Summoner series is at least as good as the first so if you enjoyed book 1 the second will be to your liking as well. There's two things I really like about this series so far. First, the focus on complex character building for Samuel and Aurora really helps you feel invested in their progress. Secondly, the major story arc is being developed slowly overtime. Instead of knowing the ultimate goal the MC needs to accomplish right from the start, the authors are taking the breadcrumb approach and even after 2 books we're still learning where all this is going to lead. The minor story arcs are fulfilling enough that the reader doesn't feel like progression is an issue. As always Fay and Tom do an excellent job with the narration.

Overall a good book with excellent narration. There isn't anything really in the way of earth shattering ideas or twists but it's an enjoyable listen with enough variation on the SoL theme to make it different and interesting. IMO it was worth the credit.

Keeping it short and sweet, this book/series is basically Everybody Loves Large Chests (ELLC) but with Boxy as the homicidal sidekick instead of the MC. There's plenty of funny bits with some good character and world building tossed in. Narration is top notch as always from the Soundbooth team! Totally worth the credit and can't wait for the next installment!

Loved the twist on the reincarnation theme
Reviewed: 10-04-23
Apocalypse: Regression is a solid addition to the reincarnation genre and has vibes similar to Towers of Heaven and Threads of Fate but with the twist being that the wrong guy got sent back. This makes the things more interesting as the MC has to wing it a bit but starts to find his stride by the end of the book. I highly recommend if you are into the genre.

There's a good mix of action and character building as well as some crafting mixed in. So if you are into any of those things you'll enjoy the book too!
Definitely worth the credit and looking forward to the next installment!

Story
Ajax is one of Earth’s most elite, a Paladin pilot, and trusted to fly the most advanced starfighters humanity ever produced. His carrier and the rest of the fleet have fallen back, the recent damage from the elven betrayal making it impossible to stay in the fight. He knows they’ll return, and they’ll treat this world to the same kind of plasma bombardment that the elves had inflicted on Mother Earth. The real problem for Ajax, though, is that he’s parachuting down onto it now, his arm broken.

The book is well written and the narration is top notch as usual from Chris and Jess. The book has some pacing issues in the middle but leaves you wanting more at the end. I was initially getting a little frustrated with the flash forward/flashback throughout the first half of the book but by the time it catches up it feels like it's really well done and enhances the character/world building by doing it at a measured pace instead of bludgeoning the reader with a bunch of details without context at the beginning of the book.
The book has a little bit of everything, including some mystery, action, plot/world building, and relationship building. Overall this was worth the credit and I look forward to the next installment!

Story
Becoming a knockoff Dracula in tight leather pants was never part of Vincent’s plans. Neither was being summoned to another world by a cult of vampire wannabes. But both happened. Now, Vincent’s left to pick up the tattered pieces of his humanity as he tries to grow strong enough to keep his family safe. The world is filled with nightmares, and the looming threat of losing his soul stands between his goal and his reality, so it’s not like it will be too hard or anything. Hell should tremble. A good man is going to war.

Join the military and fight the demon hordes or sell his soul to the Corpos. Both options having minimal appeal to a shut-in like Jack. Thanks to the high cost of living, and his sister’s medical expenses, Jack has never given much thought to what he’d want to do with life, always living paycheck to paycheck, scrounging just enough to keep the lights on and his sister safe. However, in a strange turn of events that nearly kills him, an Angel presents him with a third option.

School was a chore. All I wanted was to become a magus, enter the academy, and train my chosen affinity. But I didn't pass the test. They said I didn't have it in me. Years later, a run-in with a sassy goth mage named Misty revealed I could do magic. Those damn monocle-wearing pseudo-Victorians at the academy locked me out! Screw them.
