Max Lucado did a great job with the narration. He also has a way with words that just really captures my attention. This book was a joy to listen to and the message behind it was a very hopeful and reassuring one. Think I'll be listening to this one again soon and more of his books as well!

Story
Sam Hill always saw the world through different eyes. Born with red pupils, he was called “Devil Boy” or Sam “Hell” by his classmates; “God’s will” is what his mother called his ocular albinism. Her words were of little comfort, but Sam persevered. Sam believed it was God who sent Ernie Cantwell, the only African American kid in his class, to be the friend he so desperately needed. And that it was God’s idea for Mickie Kennedy to storm into Our Lady of Mercy like a tornado, uprooting every rule Sam had been taught about boys and girls. Forty years later, Sam, a small-town eye doctor, is no longer certain anything was by design.

I liked this book for the most part - mine coming-of-age story. My biggest gripe is the narration. The author is a very bland narrator and sounded pretty robotic. But overall an enjoyable book.

What could be more restful than a weekend getaway with family and friends? An isolated luxury cabin in the woods, spectacular views, a hot tub and a personal chef. Hannah’s generous brother found the listing online. The reviews are stellar. It'll be three couples on this trip with good food, good company and lots of R & R. But the dreamy weekend is about to turn into a nightmare.

Story
After Lucy is found wandering the streets, covered in her best friend Savvy’s blood, everyone thinks she is a murderer. Lucy and Savvy were the golden girls of their small Texas town: pretty, smart, and enviable. Lucy married a dream guy with a big ring and an even bigger new home. Savvy was the social butterfly loved by all, and if you believe the rumors, especially popular with the men in town. It’s been years since that horrible night, a night Lucy can’t remember anything about, and she has since moved to LA and started a new life.

The story was definitely interesting and really liked the podcast episodes interspersed throughout. Some twists and turns although ending was a bit pedestrian. But what really made this audiobook was the narration. Both narrators are so good and I will definitely be listening to more of their stuff.
