How did she come to understand ME so deeply?

There are a group of women authors who write gay romances and who make me pump my fist when one paragraph or another reveals a depth to her character that mirrors a depth within myself that I didn't understand until I was decades older than her character. Annabeth Albert is one of those authors. When I write myself, I'm aware that I'm writing for male readers, even if female readers may enjoy what I've written, but I've also seen that some female reviewers may not have seen the deep connections that Ms. Albert's characters make with male readers. I'm astonished at how deeply she understands how men feel, even if they can't express those feelings as well as she does.
The only shortcoming in the performance is that the reader's voice doesn't take on the voice of the principal character of a chapter when he announces the next chapter, and that confused me. Otherwise, he's great.

Riley Hart understands the depths men can have and knows how to express those in creative writing. This book is an example to all the rest of us who write that the outcome can be worth the effort.

This is a book that gives you insight into emotions within your characters that you may have missed as a writer, and thereby opens you up to emotions within yourself as you write. Thus, it strengthens both yourself as a writer and the story you’re writing.

Settle back and enjoy

Sometimes it’s better to just settle back and enjoy the warmth of a story, without letting details of a literary device get in a guy’s way. Besides, there are plenty of roads people can take, and sometimes a guy might give in when a woman tells him that she wants his baby or wants his child. The warmth of the story overcame that for me, anyway.

Good story about how each of two men can grow when each either allows or helps the other one do it. Great self-recognition, too. Perfect reader, as well.

Nice story. It’s hard to believe that a man in his forties who works in construction would be so indecisive, but the reader of that character sounds too much younger as well, so a bit disappointing.

Good story with an unexpected twist; great reader with voices to match what seems to me to have been the author’s intention and good peripheral characters too. I’ll look for her other books for sure

A wonderful collection of romance stories with a reader who totally understands what must have been the author’s intentions; surely the sexiest male voice I’ve heard on audiobooks. Bravo to both !
