Would you listen to Face the Music again? Why?

Absolutely. I did't know much about the band of Paul and was very impressed with his ability to tell his story candidly and in a fun, interesting way

What about Paul Stanley’s performance did you like?

My favorite books are those written and read by the authors and this one did not disappoint. Others that are good include Ann & Nancy Wilson (of Heart) and Rosie Perez

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I liked understanding about his childhood and the challenges he faced

Any additional comments?

Very well done book and I am quite impressed with Paul Stanley. He has learned a lot about himself (both positives and negatives) and taken steps to improve himself and focus on the people/things that are important. He has so many varied interests and is MUCH deeper that what you might think is on the surface.

Where does Ham: Slices of a Life rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Fun and interesting

What other book might you compare Ham: Slices of a Life to and why?

Tough to say, in that is autobiographical, but not a linear memoir (it's a collection of stories and experiences that are related, but don't flow in order). Once you get the hang of it though, it's very good. IUt's not all fun and games though - there are tough subjects discussed (which are handled honestly and very well).

Have you listened to any of Sam Harris’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, this is the first one and I would definitely listen to more

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

His conversation with one of high school teachers (during a tough time in Sam's life). What an inspiration - the situation could have gone so many (negative) ways

Any additional comments?

Give this one a try - it's an unusual arrangement, but made me think and reflect on things.

Where does Handbook for an Unpredictable Life rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Super sad, but a truthful account of Rosie's story, as written and told by her

What was one of the most memorable moments of Handbook for an Unpredictable Life?

Her wonderful, emotional performance throughout the book

What does Rosie Perez bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The feeling and emotion in her voice, the great accent, her impression of how Lydia, Thea, and her Dad spoke - just great I especially liked how she imitated her Aunt's cackling laugh

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I would get rid of the book title. It sounds kind of trivial compared to all the harrowing experiences she had

Any additional comments?

Wow, what a great book and stunning performance by Rosie. If you like autobiographies as much as I do (especially those read by the author), definitely buy this one!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

No, this is her life and she recounts it as she saw fit. At times, it sounded like she was a little "sick of it all," (kind of sighing at the beginning of each chapter), but hey, that's how life is and we all feel that way at times. There are a lot of other reviews that focus on the more "racy" parts of her life, but I was not put off my it at all. I appreciated her candor, honesty, and willingness to share that part of herself.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I really liked learning about her childhood and early years and would have liked to hear more about this period

Which scene was your favorite?

Hard to say - liked the whole thing

Do you think Shirley Jones needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No, this is good as is.

What did you love best about Spelling It Like It Is?

That Tori wrote and read it herself. Boy, you have to admit that she has one crazy life, but it's admirable that she shares it so openly with all of us.

What did you like best about this story?

Getting more background how how/why things have happened to her, her relationships, her professional life, etc

What does Tori Spelling bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Yes, we think we know all about her (and we know a lot since her life is so public), but this book puts it all into perspective

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When she talks about her parents. I also liked how she really, REALLY takes a good hard look at herself and decides how to change (what's important, etc)

Any additional comments?

Good book overall. It took a little while for me to really get into it, but I enjoyed her story and narration. I had no idea about all the medical issues she has encountered - yikes! There are a few really funny parts that literally cracked me up (as I listened on a flight), which made it fun too.

Would you listen to Love & War again? Why?

No, once was enough (and I really liked it), but got all I needed after 1 listen.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Love & War?

I enjoyed how they alternated chapters and commentary - very well done

Have you listened to any of James Carville and Mary Matalin ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No and their narratives MADE the book - it was great and James' accent cracked me up

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Hearing their perspectives on 9/11 and Katrina

Any additional comments?

Really fast listen and fun!

What did you love best about Bedsit Disco Queen?

That Tracey wrote and narrated it

What did you like best about this story?

That it wasn't a gossip-fest or tell-all, but a genuine description of what it was like for her to become a musician. If you like books like this, a GREAT one is Ann & Nancy Wilson's book - give it a try!

Have you listened to any of Tracey Thorn’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, of course I knew her work, but had not seen any interviews, etc. I didn't really understand the title of the book though

Any additional comments?

I wished Tracey would have described her relationship with Ben in more detail (I am a romantic and think it's great they are still together after all these years!). I also liked how there were a few snips of music in the book

What made the experience of listening to Coreyography the most enjoyable?

My favorite books are autobiographies read by the author and this does not disappoint. Loved Corey's performance, emotions, and accents throughout the book

Which character – as performed by Corey Feldman – was your favorite?

All were great (for different reasons) - his parents, Corey Haim, industry folks like Donner and Spielberg, and of course - Michael Jackson (for whom Feldman has great respect)

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I am amazed with his tenacity throughout the difficult times in his life and his relentless pursuit of a positive attitude

Any additional comments?

I didn't know too much about Feldman and was impressed that he shared his story and experiences. Great audio performance - heartfelt and genuine. Give it a try, it does not disappoint!

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Stefanie's diction and performance of the book are excellent

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I would have liked a more conventional (timeline-wise) recounting of her life experience. The book jumped around a lot (both in dates and subjects). However, listening to her speak made it all worthwhile

Which character – as performed by Stefanie Powers – was your favorite?

Anything with an accent

Do you think One from the Hart needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Nope, fine as is

What did you love best about Ava Gardner: The Secret Conversations?

William Hope's narration is fantastic - so much fun to listen to and I love how he speaks for Ava - very campy (in the best, most flattering way) - cracks me up!

What other book might you compare Ava Gardner: The Secret Conversations to and why?

Wow, tough to say, since it is written from the writer's perspective (which is unusual).

Have you listened to any of William Hope’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, this is my first exposure to William Hope and he is great. I will definitely seek other works by him

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I am only halfway through the book, so I will have to wait and see

Any additional comments?

Having lots of fun listening to this. The audio quality is excellent too - give it a try!
