I very much enjoyed this listen! When I started reading it as a pop up book, I continued to listen at the same time because the reader was so good! His gentle tone and emotion in his voice is a true testament to Barrie’s beautiful novel!

Awesome, but…

These books are all VERY nice, nothing less, for Beverly is a marvelous writer, but, one thing. The lady who reads Ellen Tebbits is very annoying and gruff! Ellen’s voice is good, but Austene! The girl who is kind, loving, and friendly sounded like a teenage reckloose boy! And Otis! His voice was nearly too much to bear, even for Otis’s character! Just something to think about. Also, the stories in the collection are all mushed together by the total chapters! They should definitely be arranged by story enable more simplicity and ease. Otherwise, great stories!

Story
Ellen Tebbits is convinced she'll die of embarrassment if any of the girls at school discover her secret. But then she meets Austine Allen, a new girl in class who's hiding the very same secret. Instantly, the two become best friends. They do everything together, from clapping erasers to riding horses. Ellen quickly learns that embarrassing secrets and pesky troublemakers like Otis Spofford aren't so bad when you have someone special to stick up for you.

This book was GREAT!!! A true Beverly Cleary original. I noticed several motifs from some of her other works. I’ll continue to listen to more of her books. Ellen is kind, imaginative, and a very good friend. However, Austene is my favorite. She’s very outgoing and has a pure heart. Fantastic work Ms. Cleary, and great work audible!

Story
Animal lovers of all ages will cherish this memorable story. Perhaps the most celebrated animal story of the 19th century, Black Beauty is the suspenseful and deeply moving account of a horse's experiences at the hands of many owners - some, sensitive riders who treated him gently; others, cruel drivers who thoughtlessly inflicted lasting damage.

Do not buy this audiobook. So awful I couldn’t even make it through the first page. Stilted speech, sounds like a robot who can barely read.
