Story
I cross the tracks every day for one reason - to graduate from this school and get into the Ivy League. I'm not ashamed of where I come from, my family, or how everyone at Marymount thinks my skirts are too short and my lipstick is too red. Clay Collins and her friends have always turned up their noses at me. The witch with her beautiful skin, clean shoes, and rich parents who torments me daily and thinks I won't fight back. At least not until I get her alone and find out she's hiding so much more than just what's underneath those pretty clothes.

Story
This wasn’t the life I was meant to live. No, I should be working on solidifying my ladder of ascension. No matter what the cost or what I had to give up. No matter what they made me do. Their little wildflower, that’s who I am. Quiet, meek, gullible. Until I met the one person who changed all of it and became something more. She’s my filthiest secret. And one I intend on taking to the grave.

Narration was great. The story was super interesting, but it was very very dark. It was hard to listen to parts of the book that dealt with sexual violence towards women.

Story
Sylvie Campos and Lauren Machado have hated each other since before they were born. For generations, the Campos and Machado families have blamed each other for stealing pastry recipes they claim their great-grandfathers originated before fleeing Castro's Cuba. Having spent their lives as rivals, Lauren and Sylvie are now in their early thirties and primed to take over their respective family bakeries. That means working long, hot, seasons of outdoor food festivals where they are forced to endure each other—albeit with a lot of bantering and barb-trading.

This book drove me nuts! The main character annoyingly self sabotaging that she unlikable. The narration was the only saving grace. This book should have been cut in half.

Story
Two thousand years before Cait Reagan was a twinkle in The Morrigan’s eye, Weyna played handmaid to that very same Goddess in the year leading up to the Second Battle of Maighe Tuireadh, where the Tuatha de Dannan faced the forces of Fomori in a climactic final battle. But when Weyna stuns the assembled Gods and Goddesses by taking down the greatest fighter the Óșeni have ever known using a technique she never learned, she sets in motion a series of events that will ultimately lead to the discovery a long-buried secret two millennia later.

This book was truly a rough listen. There was so much toxicity, granted I understand that was the purpose of story. The ending wasn't satisfying enough to justify listening to all the bigotry, homophobia, and sexism.

Honestly, I really liked the beginning of the book. It was clever and fun, but by the end, I was ready to pull my hair out. The lead character is too clueless, to the point of frustration. Eddy might be one of the most irritating characters I've read. the narration was good.
