Story
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

What a great story and characters!

The narrator was wonderful and for good or bad the story brought back many memories of a girl/woman growing up in the 50’s and 60’s. I was so fortunate that I had a female boss in my first two jobs!

This was a love story with a bit of mystery. The narrator was brilliant and truly transported the listener to the English village. I also learned more about honeybees which are so crucial to our food supply. I hated to see it end!

Story
I’m half-witch, half-faery, and facing dangers as real as the ache in my bad knee. Ibuprofen and caffeine keep me going, and I could do this for the rest of my life. Whoever thinks my family home is an easy mark better take notice: The new Guardian in town isn’t going down without a fight. After all, she’s already learned to let go of her simple existence and believe in the extraordinary power inside of her. What could possibly stop her now?

Good story almost ruined by narration pauses

I enjoyed this story and the narrator is wonderful with the voices and accents BUT there were constant blank spaces in the narration that really detracted from the flow of the story. I like the characters enough to get the next book but I hope the narration improves in the next book.
