Publisher's summary

A brand-new full-cast audiobook production of the classic collaboration from internationally best-selling authors Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett starring Rebecca Front as the Narrator, Michael Sheen as Aziraphale, and David Tennant as Crowley!

"Good Omens...is something like what would have happened if Thomas Pynchon, Tom Robbins and Don DeLillo had collaborated. Lots of literary inventiveness in the plotting and chunks of very good writing and characterization. It’s a wow. It would make one hell of a movie. Or a heavenly one. Take your pick." (Washington Post)

According to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655, before she exploded), the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact. Just before dinner.

So the armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, frogs are falling, tempers are flaring. Everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon - both of whom have lived amongst Earth's mortals since The Beginning and have grown rather fond of the lifestyle - are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture.

And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist....

Don’t miss Season 2 of the Prime original series!

Editor's Pick

Theater for the end of the world
I love adaptations of origin stories. Time and time again, they rehash the events that first divided our minds into right and wrong. With each listen, we rediscover who we’ve become. Though Good Omens references Eden, fans of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett know best: never trust a place to be exactly as it seems. This story asks why the end of the world would develop in a ''kids’ paradise,'' but no such place could survive to begin with. Surely the natural curiosity and boredom of children would always lead to an apple that ends it all. Kids love to ask ''why,'' and it would be a denial of our origins for adults to forget that we too learned to ask questions while growing up. As a child, I learned this lesson first through Gaiman’s Coraline, then The Graveyard Book, then The Ocean at the End of the Lane. Though I’ve revisited each of these stories, they’ve never failed to teach me something new. Expect to find fresh perspective in this full-cast recording, brought to life by David Tennant, Michael Sheen, and the many brilliant newcomers to the world of Good Omens. This listen delivers theater to your doorstep: a perfect gift for those of us missing live productions. —Haley H., Audible Editor

The cast reading is absolutely delightful

Really brings to life one of my all-time favorite books. The show is a little different from the book, so it was interesting hearing how the cast interpreted the original text.

Watch with your ears.

Been wanting to watch the Prime video only to find out it was a book. Getting to HEAR the story WITH the characters acted was perfect for me. Helped with the visual but got the book version too. Loved it!

Great story, mostly great narration

The good voice actors were great. The ones that weren't could be distracting. Overall a good rendition of this classic novel by 2 genre fiction gods.

Possibly the best audiobook I've heard so far.

The performances were phenomenal, but the story is the true treasure. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the best thing I've ever read.

Best Audiobook purchase I have made so far!

This was so wonderful! The written book is major fun but this cast of narrators is amazing! To get Michael Sheen and David Tennant to read the roles they created in the Netflix series was a coup, I have to believe, since they are perfect, but every supporting actor is equally delightful! There are differences in the book versus the series, but they are understandable and both versions are worthy of the enormous audience that they have received. I will listen to this again, just to savor the material I remember and to catch what I missed the first go around. There’s always something, in a book this packed with wit and fun, that is overlooked the first time but stands out the second listen.
Thank you, Audible, for making this production!

Can't wait for season two!

This was my second read, gearing up for the second season of the tv show, and I really liked it! Definitely worth the re-listen if you've already heard the other version.

I Originally Had a Copy of the First Audio Book

And it was very good but this is equally good. Looks like Gaiman is going to produce a second season. I hope it is going to be as good although of course Terry Pratchett isn't here to help. Still this is an equal treat as a full cast production.

The best audio books I’ve heard so far!

I’ve never experienced an audiobook like this one. There is an entire cast, a new voice for EVERY character, and even music intermissions. The voices matched every character perfectly and it was extremely good audio quality.

The book is engaging and follows many different storylines throughout and I never got bored at any point. I highly recommend and I’m going to go watch the show that’s based on it now!!
