Publisher's summary

I was never supposed to see him again.
One night of passion with a complete stranger.
My last tryst before senior year.
But I was lost the moment his tempting lips were on my skin.
His intense touch on my body.
It should have ended there.
But he's not a stranger.
He's my history teacher.
And wanting him is against the rules.
Off limits.
Forbidden.
Illicit.

Prequel to Lancaster Brothers about Young & impatient lovers

An almost 19 year old high school senior in a private school becomes involved with a newly graduate 22 year old history teacher after a summer 1 night stand together. Both have family issues and are immature enough to take chances getting caught and not patient enough to use caution for then8 months until graduation. Not sure why If Lyn was so bright she didn’t have a tutor or wasn’t sent to boarding school during the year she missed. Also if she is taking AP history why not take other APs to catch up on the year she missed and graduate on time. But then she and her best friend would not be in the same class. This book answers some family issues that are referred to in the Lancaster Brothers series. A good choice for the Escape Package and should be read prior to the Lancaster Brothers books but at times the behavior of both young adults was considerably younger and silly.

Ick factor (Spoiler in review)

It's very well written and flows well. However, I'm usually okay with an older man story but this one had an element that was hard for me to get past. While she is 18 her one night stand ends up being a new teacher. I just was never able to get past that because I have an 18 year old myself so if thats not going to bother you I'm sure youll enjoy this.

Angsty, passionate student/teacher romance. Christian Rummel sizzles!

Illicit is passionate, emotional, full of heat and keeps your heart racing. Ava Harrison's writing has you sharing the roller coaster of emotions right along side Lynn and Carson. It's an angst filled, love story about two damaged people who are utterly lost to the passion and intense connection they share. This book is one fantastic ride everyone should take.

I was already a fan of this book when I read it, but listening to the audiobook was a completely new and mesmerizing experience. Christian Rummel's narration as Carson Blake is everything I didn't know I needed! As if Carson wasn't already a totally worthy book boyfriend before, but listening to Christian Rummel give life to the broody, protective, and sinfully sexy character took it to a whole new level of hotness. He takes a character and story that is already good and upgrades it to fantastic and damn near perfection. Carly Robbins is also great in her narration. She does an awesome job of portraying Lynn as vulnerable and conflicted without having her come off as whiny and overly dramatic. Also, her seamless transitions between characters gives the audiobook fantastic flow and made me want to keep listening straight through. Together both narrators, along with Ava Harrison's words, make this audiobook an absolute must listen.

Forbidden Love between a teacher and student

Great story. I enjoyed the plot and the writing flowed and was easy to get into. This is a story of a chance encounter that leads to an unexpected happily ever after. There are obstacles and hiccups along the way and a few points where Lynn was a little immature but I had to keep reminding myself she was only 19.
Carson was the reformed bad boy and trying his best to stay on the right track but the tempting student in his class makes it difficult for him to remember to stay in his place.
Forbidden love, passion and steam. A great blend of emotions made this an enjoyable read.
Christian Rummel was FANTASTIC!!!
I absolutely love his voice and the performance he gives. This was my first time listening to Carly Robins and I have mixed feelings. On one hand, her voice sounded kind of high pitched and not as easy to enjoy but she did do a great job and I’m sure I’d listen to her again.

This is YA (age 17-18) Setting in High School

Not for anyone over 20 yo. A complete turn off for a mature adult (or anyone with school aged children for that matter) . Ok, why is there no mention that the setting is in High School? Sorry, could not get past chapter 5. She is in HS........ (have to repeat that like 10x) and he is her teacher (give me a break). While she is of legal age, come on, HS....... NO!

Took too long

The main characters took too long to get together. There were so much nonsense push and pull that it took a way a good story. By the time they came to their senses, I lost interest. I got soo bored with their immature actions, I couldn’t finish the story. So sad that I invested so many hours that I can’t take back. I loved both narrators and will definitely look from both. Unfortunately not this author.

3 stars

So I really wanted to love this story. I saw forbidden student teacher romance and I jumped on the chance to listen. The problem for me was that it was to repetitive throughout most of the middle of the book. He would ignore her and in turn she would say/do something to get his attention wash rinse repeat. Also the OW drama he created rubbed me the wrong way.

Christian Rummel did an amazing job. I could listen to him narrate a whole book. Carly Robbins also did a good job but I thought her voice sounded too old for an 18 year old.

Kinda boring

So an illicit affair between a student and a teacher should be super steamy and titulating, right? Dark Notes is one of my favorite romance books so I was hoping for something along those lines. Less BDSM to be sure but still hot and naughty. This one was actually boring. The characters were nice and the plot was serviceable but it just didn't have that thing that makes you unable to put it down. I was bummed.

Good forbidden romance

Forbidden student/teacher romance. I enjoy Ava Harrison's books. This one was a little different. Enjoyable, a little angsty but nonetheless a good story. Great narration.
