Publisher's summary

BOOK ONE OF THE GALLAGHERS OF ARDMORE TRILOGY

In Gallagher’s Pub, where the fire is burning low and the pints are waiting, #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts has a story to tell...

Determined to reevaluate her life, Jude Murray flees America to take refuge in Faerie Hill Cottage, immersing herself in the study of Irish folklore and discovering hope for the future of the magical past.

Finally back home in Ireland after years of traveling, Aidan Gallagher possesses an uncommon understanding of his country’s haunting myths. Although he’s devoted to managing the family pub, a hint of wildness still glints in his eyes - and in Jude, he sees a woman who can both soothe his heart and stir his blood. And he begins to share the legends of the land with her - while they create a passionate history of their own.

Great Story

Really nice story with lots of great characters. Loved the two main characters and their tug of war into a relationship. Made me want to go to Ireland and live in a cottage by the sea. Highly recommend this for an easy story to help you escape reality.

Absolutely wonderful

The only thing I would change is the background echo. It was annoying at first.

fun tale of love

Any additional comments?

I completely understand some listener's problem with the narration, but if they stop to think it takes a certain voice to be able to speak American English and Irish Accent English interchangably, it is a challenge. If you let yourself go with the story, you, don't notice the narration and can enjoy the story.

One of my favorites!

I have reread this story several times, and it is still poignant, funny and enlightening. As in all Nora’s stories there are twists and turns, but her love for Ireland, its culture, history and people is evident in this book - and the other two stories in the trilogy. The narrator does a good job changing her voice for the different characters. I also appreciate how well she enunciates and paces her delivery. The prose is that much better for not being rushed. (I highly recommend this series and the Born In Fire trilogy, if you love Ireland. The towns and villages in the stories are real, and they are as she describes.)

Jewels

Loved the Irish story line based on the Irish fable. It was very good the way the lead character gained her back bone and strength through the story. I absolutely LOVED it. Nora Roberts is my favorite writer.

This trilogy remains one of my favorites. Just as good a read as the first time.

Nora Roberts Doesn't Disappoint

I really struggled with the narrator of this book. it almost made me stop and read the digital version instead. She did do a good job with the Irish accent. The story is charming. I love stories in Ireland and stories with a little magic, and there's got to be a happy ending.
