Opportunities for Local Students

Creative Industries Unlocked
This is a 6-week programme designed for students in Year 12 or their first year of college who are interested in learning more about careers in the creative industries. Through a series of hands-on masterclasses with industry partners, students will gain an insight into jobs in sectors such as publishing, broadcasting and creative technology. Students will develop key skills needed to succeed in Bristol’s thriving creative industries sector. They will also learn how skills gained by studying an Arts or Humanities degree will set them up to succeed in one of the South West’s fastest growing sectors. In last year's programme, students heard from creative professionals from companies such as Channel 4, Bristol University Press and Aardman animations.

Applications for the 2025 programme are now open. Please visit this webpage for more information.

Writing Wrongs

This programme supports students' writing skills with a series of workshops in local schools, targeting specific writing skills (e.g., essay and evidence based writing), and showing how those skills contribute to success in the study of Arts subjects/careers. The programme will work with students currently in Year 8, in local schools. Please note we have limited capacity to run this programme, and details and timings will be discussed with participating schools directly.

GCSE Language Support programme
Our GCSE Language Support programme will provide local schools with multiple enrichment sessions for MFL students in Year 10. Please note we have limited capacity for these sessions, and details will be defined ad-hoc with participating schools.

Bristol Classics Hub
The hub provides schools with comprehensive guidance on introducing Classics into the curriculum through events, competitions and workshops for school students across all key stages.
