A House appropriations subcommittee held a hearing on child care during the coronavirus pandemic. Child care analysts, administrators, and providers addressed a variety of issues facing the industry, and some asked for funding subsidies similar to those given to the airline industry and large corporations earlier in the pandemic. The witnesses spoke about a variety of issues, including day care “deserts,” and a lack of financial support for workers in the child care industry.
