The House Appropriations Subcommittee on Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies held a virtual hearing on the Veterans Affairs Department’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Topics discussed included vaccine rollout and distribution, therapies for COVID-19 patients, oversight at state-run VA facilities, the utilization of telehealth at the VA, and health care accessibility concerns in rural and hard-to-reach communities. Dr. Richard Stone, undersecretary for health at the Veterans Health Administration, a division of the VA, were among the witnesses who testified. close
