Klipsch computer speaker system

For my purposes, this speaker system has been worth the cost, which really wasn't all that much. I listen to music on my computer and it is the only device I have for it. These are many times better than the old JBL computer speakers I had, so much so that I can actually hear much greater depth and clarity, which is what I had hoped for. It has been 30 years since I owned any decent audio equipment, and while this is by no means high end, it is pretty satisfactory for a non-audiophile. You do have to watch the sub woofer volume, though. If I turn it up even half way, it starts to emit a sharp click or crack at each bass beat. That is its primary failing. Hook up was super simple and the directions for doing so were clear.Read full review...

Great Speakers, But Power Draw is Ridiculous

These speakers are nice. Sounds is great and can fill an entire bedroom adequately and possibly a living room if you really wanted to. However, there is no power off switch. Now that wouldn’t be a problem if these things didn’t draw as much power as currently they do. It is insane. I don’t know the exact watts but it’s a ridiculous amount. This really points back to the age and era that these speakers were built in. Eco friendly tech didn’t really exist and efficiency wasn’t really in mind. For that reason, I think it’s time to officially retire these and move on to similarly sounding speakers that at least have a power off switch and ones that are more efficient with power and consequently more eco-friendly. Can't go wrong with Klipsch

These speakers sound great. I'm not an audiophile but you can hear the clarity with these. The bluetooth feature is awesome. I could have them linked to 2 separate devices at once. I'm not sure what the max number is though. My only negative comment would be that when it is dormant for a while and you reconnect to the bluetooth feature the speakers make a beep that is louder than I'd like. There is a white power light on one of the front speakers. It turns blue when a linked bluetooth device connects which I though was pretty cool. They also have the typical line-in wire as well as a volume know. A nice added feature is a bass knob. You can rock out when everyone is awake and tone it down (or off) once people are sleeping. Very please with this item.Read full review...

Well worth the cost so far...

The sound is incredible, it rivals any computer speaker set up I've had before, and then some. I find the suggested sub woofer volume dot very useful. The one drawback for me is the absence of a power on/off switch. It's no big deal to put a sock on the led light at night so I don't see it, it's really just an odd feeling that I can't turn it off. This arrived quickly and in one piece. It was very easy to set up. Read full review...

Good, just not for me-

It's powerful and sounds good! 2 things I didn't like-No treble control, (have to use computer EQ settings, which may not be ok for different music, videos, etc.) I'm not a gamer, so lack of bass, AND treble, AND power, mean much to me. Biggest gripe-Power led light stays ON, even with the computer OFF. Heavy-duty, and appears well made! Sorry... Read full review...

Good stuff!

I've had all kinds of speakers on my PC and haven't been satisfied until now. These are definitely the best so far. They arrived in a generic box and had some tape residue on them that cleaned off pretty easily. Otherwise, the speakers look brand new. I don't really use the bluetooth option, but I tried it and it works great with my iphone. If you have a small place, these are ideal for utilizing a PC for a stereo/home theater and are perfect for gaming as well. Highs, mids, bass, all good! Not amazing like your home theatre with 100 watts per channel amazing, but good. as I said, definitely better than any of the logitech line. The only problem I have is, every once in awhile, they pick up people talking on their phone's as they drive by. My house is close to the street, so may not be a problem for others. I absolutely recommend these and would buy again.Read full review...

Fantastic sound from small computer desktop speakers with subwoofer -- all at a great price!

Excellent sound quality from small computer desktop speakers with strong, adjustable bass from the included subwoofer that sits unobtrusively under my desk next to my PC workstation tower. Easy setup for Windows PCs with a 3.5mm speaker/headphone jack (no USB connection options for these speakers). Supplied cable plugs into the 3.5mm speaker/headphone jack on the PC from the Klipsch Control Pod that attaches to the bottom of one of the two desktop speakers; another cable from that Conrol Pod connects the Subwoofer that requires 110VAC power (power cord included); included speaker-wires permanently attached to each of the two desktop speakers connect to a 4x push-release terminal block on the subwoofer. The short metal stands (rubber foot pad stickers included) on both desktop speakers angle the sound upward and aid with directing cables toward the back corners of my computer desk (where I have cable management holes for a clean look). With the ControlPod attached under the left speaker, this puts the volume controls (1 knob for main speaker volume and a separate knob for subwoofer volume) and also puts the available 3.5mm Aux In jack (for connecting another sound source) and a headphone jack all within easy reach at the left edge of my desk (the correct side for wired headphones). There's a bright LED on the ControlPod indicating the system is powered on -- too bright in my opinion, but easy enough to mask/dim with a small piece of tape. This Klipsch system has plenty of power and generates more than ample volume for crisp, clean audio to effectively fill any mid-sized office or small conference room.Read full review...

Hi-fi quality without the obnoxious pricetag

Outside of crazy high-end or pro studio monitors, these are the best desktop speakers I've ever heard. They are definitely the best 2.1 computer speakers in the price range. I pretty much stole mine at $50, but see them below $100 regularly. I've paid double that for systems that didn't sound as good as this one.

If you direct the port properly, the subwoofer generates powerful, CLEAN bass and the crossover is set sanely. No junky rumble like you get from lesser systems with the crossover set too high to accentuate the wrong kind of bass. Vocals and high frequencies are brilliant and clear. Higher frequency bass is present and clear, and like I said isn't muddied by the sub unless you really crank the subwoofer knob.

These speakers can be turned up VERY loud without distortion or crackling. For me, they have replaced a full Yamaha stereo receiver setup driving bookshelf speakers and a home-theater sub. This has reduced my power consumption and setup complexity, with no sacrifice in sound quality or power. This product does the Klipsch name proud.

Oh yeah, they're also bluetooth. Syncing is painless and signal quality is good. I didn't seek out this feature but it wound up being a neat bonus.

Klipsch is the best!

Awesome speakers! This is my second set of these Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 BT speakers because the sound is just that good. Been a fan of Klipsch speakers for 25-30 years, personally prefer Klipsch over Bose. Awesome bang for the buck and can't see how you'd be disappointed with the clear crisp sound that comes out of these. Paid $100 used/like new on amazon for first set, and $116 used/like new in box here on ebay, shipping included at those prices.Read full review...

Excellent value and good quality sound.

Good, clear sound with excellent articulation and stereo separation, subwoofer helps the bass and is well integrated with the systems sound. At this price, nothing really comes close. Don't waste your time on computer manufacturer based systems or some off brands, get audiophile sound at a bargain price with this set up and have a detailed, well integrated system for next to nothing.Read full review...
