This volume does an excellent job of introducing modern time series analysis to social scientists (especially political scientists) who are already familiar with basic statistics and the general linear model., This volume does an excellent jobof introducing modern time series analysis to social scientists who are already familiar with basic statistics and the general linear model., This volume does an excellent job of introducing modern time series analysis to social scientists who are already familiar with basic statistics and the general linear model. It introduces the kinds of terminology that one is likely to hear in discussions of time-series data and methods, and explains the content and implications of the terms in a manner that is nicely comprehensible to those who have not been exposed previously to time series analysis.

Synopsis
Introducing time series methods and their application in social science research, this practical guide to time series models is the first in the field written for a non-econometrics audience. Giving readers the tools they need to apply models to their own research, this unique book demonstrates the use of--and the assumptions underlying--common models of time series data, including finite distributed lag; autoregressive distributed lag; moving average; differenced data; and GARCH, ARMA, ARIMA, and error correction models., Introducing time series methods and their application in social science research, this practical guide to time series models is the first in the field written for a non-econometrics audience. I ordered this book it was supposed to be in very good condition which as described meant there would be no writing and no highlighting on the pages or personal items attached to them. That was not my experience. Somebody's notes are in here along with a gold star affixed to a page and highlighted items. I would not have purchased this had I known this or this was disclosed or properly checked out. The price was good but not if it's not as described! Sick and tired of eBay sellers stay away!!
