General Questions
What kind of courses does Educative provide?
Educative is a hands-on learning platform for software developers of all levels. Our interactive, text-based courses are built from the ground up to teach you the skills employers are looking for.
We provide tools like in-browser coding environments and interview-focused assessments to help you practice as you learn. Whether you’re looking to become a developer, grow your skills, or prepare for an upcoming interview, Educative’s expert authors can get you there.
You can find courses on coding languages (e.g. Python, Java, etc.), security, machine learning, cloud computing, and so much more. We launch courses weekly, so check back often!
Can I save courses to ‘My Learning’?
Please follow these steps to save a course:
Click the desired course.
On the course homepage, next to the course name, click on the save icon.
The course will appear in your “My Learnings” under the “Saved” tab.
My subscribed course does not appear in ‘My Learnings.’ Where is it?
Educative sends a confirmation email when you enroll in a course. Be sure to check your junk or spam folder if you do not see the enrollment confirmation email in your inbox.
If you do not see a confirmation email, this could indicate that you purchased the course while logged into Educative with a different email address or that the purchase was not completed. We also advise checking your banking information or your PayPal account to verify the purchase was processed.
If you are still having trouble, please send us an email at support@educative.io with your email address, full name, and course name.
How do I provide feedback for a course?
To send feedback within a section of a course, please refer to the following instructions:
Go to the desired Educative course.
Navigate into the subsection where you would like to provide feedback.
At the bottom of the page, click on the megaphone icon labeled “Report an Issue.”
Write your feedback and click “Submit” when you are finished.
For site-wide feedback, we have the "question mark" icon at the right bottom of each page.
How can I take notes and highlight the text in my courses?
Please follow these instructions:
Navigate to the desired course.
Enter the desired lesson.
Select the text you would like to highlight or add a notation. The option to highlight or take notes will appear above the selected text.
The option to take notes is indicated by the paper icon title “Add a note.” Select the paper icon to take notes.
A response box will appear. Enter your notes there.
Click the purple icon “Done” when finished.
Can I share or download course content?
Subject to your payment of any applicable fees, Educative grants you a non-transferable, royalty-free license, without the right to sublicense, to access and use any Educative content (“Content”) you purchase through the Services. The Content is owned by Educative or our authors. Unless the Content has a separate license that grants you other rights, you may only use the Content for your own personal, noncommercial purposes, and you may not (a) reproduce, modify, translate or create any derivative work of the Content; (b) sell, share, rent, lease, loan, provide, distribute or otherwise transfer the Content; © circumvent any security measures or attempt to gain access to Content that you have not paid for; or (d) permit or encourage any third party to do any of the foregoing.
If Content is accompanied by a separate license, the terms of such license shall control the terms of this section. You are responsible for complying with any license terms that accompany such Content.
We do not authorize the sharing of content with others.
I did not receive an account verification email. Can I get a new activation link?
Please use the following steps to receive a new activation link:
Visit https://www.educative.io and click Login.
Click “Forgot Password” (bottom right corner of the login dialog).
Click “Didn’t receive the verification email? RESEND” (bottom left corner of the forgot-password dialog).
Enter your email address and click “Resend”.Alternatively, please verify if you created your Educative account using another email address.
I forgot the password for my Educative account. How can I access my account?
Please use the following steps to reset your password:
Visit https://www.educative.io and click Login.
Click “Forgot Password” (bottom right corner of the login dialog).
Enter your email address and click “Recover”.
How can I delete my Educative account?
You have the option to delete your account either by accessing the account settings within your profile or by clicking on the following link: "https://www.educative.io/profile/edit."
I want to enable the dark mode for the Educative website. How do I do this?
To change your setting to VS DARK mode, please follow these instructions:
Open a lesson
Click the gear at the top right corner
Click dropbox
Select your desired setting.
What are learner streaks?
Learner Streaks, on Educative, is a feature that allows learners to maintain a consistent learning habit by tracking their consecutive days of learning. It is a tangible, measurable number that holds learners accountable to practicing every single day, even if it’s just for a few minutes. The streaks are calculated based on the learner’s daily activity, such as logging in, completing lessons, passing assessments, and other actions.
The goal of Streaks is to encourage learners to make learning a daily habit by providing a sense of achievement and motivation. You can view your daily streak by clicking the fire icon next to your profile in the top Navbar. Clicking “View Activity” shows the number of your current and highest streaks.
