Laboratory for Advanced Electromagnetics and Photonics

About us
The Laboratory for Advanced Electromagnetics and Photonics (LEAP) works at the frontier between electromagnetic theory and photonics technology with the aim of combining theoretical and experimental aspects from both fields.

Our primary research is centered on modeling and engineering the optical responses of thin optical films, such as meta-surfaces and meta-gratings. Our goal is to develop a framework for controlling the angular scattering responses of such films, with applications in optical analog signal processing.

In addition to electromagnetic modeling, we also develop numerical methods for field simulations, design and fabricate optical nano-devices, and experimentally measure and characterize their optical responses.
