GOING THE WHOLE Hog (manay)

HAVING REALISED THAT work schedules gave us both several days free at the end of the year, choosing to celebrate New Year in our caravan for the first time was a decision that neither of us questioned.

But deciding where to go involved just a little bit more thought, and the idea of finding a site local to us that provided some entertainment was briefly considered.

However, readers might have realised by now that doing things by halves just isn’t for us. Instead, we wanted our experience to be something special. We wanted to spend Hogmanay in Edinburgh.

Fireworks and music

A quick internet search revealed that for the not-inconsiderable sum of £70 per ticket, we could see Rag’n’Bone Man in concert in Princes Street Gardens, as well as enjoying some live entertainment in Princes Street and a firework display over Edinburgh Castle.
